Noise floor is slightly more noticeable with about a quarter of dB higher than original Sony lavaliere mic but hardly a concern, very clean midtones and easily rectifiable with a quick Adaptive Noise Reduction preset (have that set already for the original Sony mic) The build quality is very good, all plastic but feels strong and sturdy and should stand up to abuse. The mic head has directional input on the sides which is an added bonus (pic attached) Save yourself $100 off the original!
