I will revisit after I have used the scale over a longer period.The unit is well boxed, but it has nothing on it, the box or instructions to indicate the name of the manufacturer or country of origin. It comes with a stainless shackle (good) and S hook (not so good, I will replace it with a 2nd shackle to ensure loads cannot be dropped). There is no guarantee information provided, nor any recycling information, which is a legal requirement for any battery-operated item.The screws which hold the battery compartment cover are tiny crossheads, which are easily butchered. They screw into a plastic housing underneath, so I hope battery life is good, the plastic won’t withstand much wear and tear. There is no seal around the compartment, so it’s designed only for indoor use, or outdoor in dry conditions.The display is clear at eye-level, but if it is above your head it becomes harder to read. If down at waist level or slightly higher it is very difficult to read. It is easy to change from kg to lbs to Newtons. The “Hold” button freezes the displayed weight.The first test was to weigh 1kg and 2.5kg food items which I had to hand. The scales measured 0.9kg and 2.4kg, which is acceptable for a unit rated to 300kgs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly accurate *by M***T on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 November 2017* I bought these scales to weigh racing (sailing) dinghies for competition. I checked them using local Trading Standards calibrated weights and they were surprisingly accurate in the weight range I needed:.. 50 KG registered 50.1 KG on the scales, 100 KG registered 99.3 KG. At 120 KG they were showing 118.5 KG.. Very please indeed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Used 2 x AA Batteries *by S***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 May 2018* I like the compactness of this scale, I got the one in an Alloy casing, seem strong enough. Read the instructions fully. The instructions say to use 2 x AAA but these don’t fit very well they are too small and kept slipping out so I used 2 x AA and they fit perfectly.
