. Review: Great first album! - Great album! Once I heard her third song on the radio, I knew I had to just give in and buy the album. She's got a fair bit of variety in this album, but a definite theme is the old-timey sound. A number of the songs on this album incorporate that sound, and most of them are pretty good! A number of them also have a sort of story-like quality to them, which I also find attractive. The Interlude is cute, with an old timey swing to it. Usually I find these bits skippable, but I really do enjoy this one. Good Job Meghan! All About That Base, Dear Future Husband, and Lips Are Movin' are the three poppy radio hits that forced me to buy this album. Love them all, along with the general messages behind them. Close Your Eyes is a beautiful song. It's got an old, slower flow to it, with a beautiful message following in the same lines as All About That Base: You're beautiful, so show it off. Don't care what others say. I adore this song. 3 AM is a cute, catchy pop song about drunk texting. While some of the lyrics don't appeal so much to me, the song itself is rather catchy, so it gets a pass. Like I'm Gonna Loose You is a sweet, slow, old timey sounding song. It's rather beautiful sounding, and I'm not always a fan of duet pairings, but I did rather like this one. I think the two artists' voices meshed prettily together. Bang Dem Sticks... This one gives me so many mixed feelings. It sounds so dirty to me. When I first heard it, instead of "I love it when it's loud, I love it when it's big" I heard "I love it when it's out, I love it when it's big." Though I now know these are not the lyrics, I can't help but hear it every time, lol. Also, the sample does not do the song justice. They picked the worst part for it (really, her "I don't think they're ready..." and the part following are the WORST parts of this song.) It's also hard to hear on some sound settings, but the back vocals on "baby show off all them trick and bang them sticks" the best part of the song to me. But then, I usually tend to appreciate the higher pitched harmonies in songs. Walkashame is another cute pop song. It reminds me a little of Lilly Allen in the sense of the subject and over-all tone of the song not quite matching up, though admittedly, the lyrics are nowhere near as colorful as those of your typical Lilly Allen song. Title is yet another super up beat, poppy tune. I have mixed feelings about this track though. While it is poppy and the melody is catchy, I'm not terribly fond of it. I like the message of don't call the girl you're with just a "friend," but something about the song just kind of rubs me wrong. What If I is my least favorite song on this album. It's super slow and old timey. It's one of those slow-dance, "I'll put you to sleep" kind of songs. I'm not a huge fan of sleepy-town music, and this goes into my sleepy-time file. No Good For You is one of my favorite songs. It's nice and up beat, and with another self-worth message, as well as a little twist towards the end. It's a message to a good friend, and one I'm sure a number of people can relate to. Mr Almost is hands down my favorite song on the album. It's a sticky situation, you feel sorry for the guy, but if it's not right, no reason to string him along. I don't care much for Shy's bit in here though. It just really clashed with the rest of the song, to me. It's like having a beatiful landscape painting crashed by an overly cartoony character. They're totally different styles and just seem wrong together. Still, I can ignore it for the rest of the song. My Selfish Heart is a bit of a toss up for me. It's by no means bad, but there are bits I didn't care for. The song slows down prettily for the beginning of the chorus, then turns into a more up beat "you've got my number baby, go (a)head and call it up" (can be heard in the sample), and the abrupt switch from slow and sweet, to more up beat in your face irks me a bit, but not enough to make me skip the song. Credit is my LEAST favorite song on the album. In fact, I really rather dislike it. It's got an old time soda pop sound to it, which I really want to like. It's the lyrics that really bother me though, and make me dislike the song. While most of Meghan's other songs promote having a positive self image, this song is a total b**** song. The lyrics talk about an Ex who she found out is head over heels with his new girl, but she's jealous because, while she doesn't want him, he's not hung up on her anymore. At least, that's what I hear in the song. She talks about how he was lame before, but she "trained" him to be cool, so give credit where it's due. I find it extremely tasteless, especially when she debuted with a song aimed at empowering women to break away from the mindset of general social standards of beauty. All in all, though, it's a pretty good album with only a couple of songs that have me reaching for the skip button. Review: I Can't Get Enough of This Fantastic Album! - I'm always looking for good music to listen to and, while I had heard some of Meghan Trainor's songs on the radio, I wasn't sure if I really liked the style because I typically listen to pop and country. I kept coming back to this debut album and decided to give it a chance. The first time I listened to the album in its entirety, I was absolutely blown away by how much I love it! I found myself unable to stop dancing to the upbeat and energetic music and I've been listening to Title throughout the day today because I can't get enough of it! Meghan Trainor's extremely unique and aesthetically pleasing style is a combination of pop, hip-hop, and 50s doo wop. Listening to her songs makes me want to find a pair of roller skates and a poodle skirt while I jam to her music! Her voice is beautiful and crystal-clear with a touch of huskiness in certain parts of her songs. Upon looking at the booklet in the CD, I was amazed to discover that Ms. Trainor either wrote or co-wrote every single song, which at almost 22 years old and nearly a year after Title was released, is very impressive and shows extreme talent on her part. Title is filled with so many good-quality, fun songs that it's hard not to like them, but there are a few that definitely stick out to me more than the others. By now, most people have probably heard her debut single "All About That Bass," an upbeat, positive song about being proud to have "all the right junk in all the right places." My other favorites are the funky "Dear Future Husband," lively "Lips Are Movin," sweet "Close Your Eyes," and the latest single "Like I'm Gonna Lose You," a beautiful ballad featuring John Legend. The other songs are good as well and it's hard not to get swept away and listen to this album over and over again! I absolutely LOVE Title and just wish that I had purchased it earlier but, now that I own it, I will be listening to it for awhile! Meghan Trainor's unique style has produced an album full of funky, energetic songs as well as slow and sweet ballads. I love listening to music while I exercise and Title is perfect if you also like listening to upbeat music to keep the energy flowing. If you are considering purchasing this album, just go ahead and buy it because you won't regret it! I highly recommend Title to anyone who wants to freshen up their music collection and I'm excited to see what else Meghan Trainor comes up with in the future!

All about that vinyl
Personally, I am fond of bass, but I do appreciate treble as well. I think it's a matter of balance -- well, that's neither here nor there. This is a nearly-perfect pop album; I can't think of a track I don't like. I don't love all pop, but when I hear this music, I just want to get up and dance, and it doesn't really matter where I am at the time, which can be a problem. I purchased the white-colored vinyl edition of this album, so for all you audiophiles and vinyl heads (is that a term?), here it goes: Thankfully, the record did not stick to the inner sleeve, which too often happens. It's a color inner sleeve, by the way. It comes with a digital download card, so that's good, and it also comes with a poster. The poster is nice, I guess, but I will not be putting it on my wall (at least not today -- we'll see about tomorrow). Upon spinning, I noticed a small warp, taking my stylus for a little ride, but this is nothing that hurt it, and honestly it looked kinda fun for the stylus. The record was relatively quiet (a little woosh in between tracks but quiet during tracks, even the quiet parts), and the music was very clear. Very nice quality. No complaints.

Great First Effort
What a fun album! There is a hardly a trick from the 50s bag of song crafting that Meghan and her production team do not draw upon. There are so many familiar sounding backing tracks, but they are polished up with a modern beats and current lyrics. The result is music that sounds deeply familiar and fresh at the same time. The album spawned two big radio hits, "All About That Bass" and "Lips are Movin," but there is no shortage of other enjoyable tracks on this album. From warm ballads like "Like I'm Gonna Lose You, " which features a great guest spot from John Legend, to bouncy pop tracks like "Title," this album is worth a listen. The music is fun, and Meghan's voice is more agile than I expected it to be. It will be exciting to see where she goes from here.

Classic Rock fan stamp of approval
Wish my Dad was still alive, even he would appreciate this one. That doo-wop and 60s girl group sound applied to current music production methods, as well as intelligent lyrics on recent social topics, results in some great music! Oddly enough the smash hit "All About That Bsss" had some of the best and worst of this album. The dig at "skinny bi***es" was not necessary (and not negated by the subsequent line "just playing" in my mind.) The overall message of that song is still great and not heard widely since "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen, and "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot. Trainor's topics are nowhere near limited to the physical though. The very next song is about how she wants to be treated with respect by a future husband (probably the most solid entry musically, "Dear Future Husband".) It's also uncommon for recent musicians to show versatility. There are some common threads musically, but like exploring different areas of the same park, there are some wonderful variations to Trainor's songwriting style. That includes Rock, Hip-hop, and stuff you could slow dance to. There is obviously some profanity, but it certainly doesn't dominate the album. Even songs like "Walkashame" will go over most kids' heads while they enjoy the fun music. I'm picky about recent albums, to the tune of about one a year. But hit me with a clever, fun, genre-bending gem like this and I'm in!

Great album
Got this album for my mom for Christmas to replace her old one that had started to skip. It is her favorite road trip there is no radio signal album and always stays in the car. Super upbeat music great to play when pushing to the next place to hop out and stretch your legs.

"Don't call me 'Boo' like you're some kinda ghost"
This is my all-time fave line in all of Meghan's (we're on a first name basis already) songs. It's among so many other catchy lines in the "title" track of "Title." My next fave rhymes are in the final song "Credit," a cute song lamenting how she buffed up her boyfriend for the next girl who won't know what she owes her: "I had him brushing' his teeth, even flossin', Got him lookin' like Ryan Gosling." I don't believe you'll ever hear flossing and Ryan Gosling in another song!! I can't stop listening to this CD. I am 2 1/2 times older than she is and I'm hooked! She wrote all these songs!! Jeez, how does a 21 yo dredge up such utter talent? From the placement of the accent notes, to the perfect throb in her voice, to the doo-wop sounds and on to rap and ballads. Her range of lyrics and musicality is really stunning. Move over Taylor...Trainor is gaining on you. Meghan wrote each of these songs, usually co-authored with Keven Kadish and she is the executive producer of this, her premier album. I have very eclectic tastes in music from the Beatles to the blues to classical and this has zoomed to my #1 album among my hundreds of CD's. Whenever I come to the final song, "Credit," a very clever song about her ex's next girlfriend owing her flowers for buffing him up into such a catch, I get sad when the music stops so I have to set it to repeat the album in a loop. Irresistible.

Garota sensacional!
Só faltou o tema do filme do Snoopy. Meghan Trainor é pouco valorizada hoje em dia, mas vocalmente incrível e os arranjos de suas músicas, sensacionais, remetendo ao antigo.
