What does it do for you personally?** A: Most cold sores/fever blisters are caused by a virus in your system & I USED to get them frequently. I’ve been taking1000mg of Lysine daily for the past 30 years, & as long as I take it DAILY, I simply DO NOT get them!! If I go MORE than 2-3 days WITHOUT Lysine & am out in the sun or get sick, I usually end up getting another one!! When that happens, if I up my dose to around 8000mg/day for 2-3 days at the FIRST sign of a breakout, it STOPS the growth & will HEAL it quickly!! Lysine CHANGED my LIFE!! **Q: what size are the pills?** A: They are really too large. I have had to take lots of medications, and this size in a capsule is OK for me. But these seem always to get stuck, so have stopped taking them. "Horse pills" is right. **Q: is this vegan?** A: Sorry for the late answer.
