Sticks well, comes off cleanly (gaffer's tape, not duct tape!)
Excellent product, same or better than other, brand name gaffer's tapes, but less expensive. Sticks well, comes off cleanly even from marble, polished wood, and glass. This is a GAFFER's tape, not duct tape, so there are limits to how hard it sticks, but it does better job than expected. Highly recommended FOR ITS PURPOSE.

Good adhesive tape
I know they call this gaffers tape, and it might indeed work for that in places that need good adhesion. It does peel off intact if you are only using it temporarily for a gig. Just like blue painter's tape, I would not leave it on for too long if you ant it to come off clean. It is definitely not as hard to remove as duck tape. But I mostly don't use it as gaffers tape, I use a different brand for temporary holding of cables. Actually, I'd like to find something with adhesions that is a cross between this brand and that brand. What I DO use it for is everything around the shop when I need to hold something in place temporarily. One of my most common uses is as on-the-fly adhesive tape for when I nick myself in the shop, and for finger protection. I tear the tape down the middle to make two thin strips, which I use as bandages to hold wounds tight, or as protective skin wrap. It is tougher than medical adhesive tape and less obnoxiously sticky than duck tape and works a heck of a lot better than bandaids.

It does the job well!
I’m not one for giving four star reviews, but this gaffers tape deserves it. Seriously. I’ve used it for three years and I love it. It adheres to just about any surface, including rough concrete, and leaves little if any residue. The residue can be easily cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol or a bit of acetone. I found it always leaves a bit of residue on glass and other smooth surfaces, but cleans up easily. It does a far better job than duck/duct tape. It doesn’t seem to be affected by weather or by water. When I run out I’ll buy another roll in an instant.

Strong and sticky
Gaffer tape is supposed to be a high tack, low residue tape. Amazon got the first part right. This stuff is really sticky. Wikipedia says of Gaffer tape: "The synthetic adhesive typically leaves little or no residue and will generally not damage most surfaces when it is removed." This stuff leaves a trail of black goo wherever it has been even if it has only been there briefly. It even goos itself to a shelf if the roll is laid flat. This tape should only be ordered along with an 8 oz or larger bottle of Goo Gone. UPDATE I needed to reseal an Amazon plastic envelope and this tape was the handiest. It took a long time and a lot of effort to get the required length of tape off the roll and by then I was covered with the adhesive that was supposed to be on the sticky side of the tape. And the envelope will likely stick to anything it comes near since the top, supposedly non sticky side of the tape is sticky with adhesive stuck to it from the previous layer of tape. I grabbed a roll of paper towels to clean up and the paper towel stuck to the adhesive on my fingers. I grabbed the bottle of Goo Gone and stuck to it. Once I got the Goo Gone opened I was able to unstick myself from the paper towel and after liberal applications of Goo Gone and a lot of rubbing I managed to get the adhesive out of my fingerprints. Then I had to use more Goo Gone to clean the adhesive off of the Goo Gone bottle. I need to throw this tape out and go buy a roll of legitimate gaffer tape.

Not the best I've used because it sticks so tightly to itself on the roll
Right off the bat, this is not standard gaffers tape. Possibly it's the matte surface that is at issue, but this is very difficult tape to use. The adhesive sticks to the next layer on the roll like it's never coming off. About the only way I could get a decent length was to hold the roll in my left hand and yank outward and down, HARD, with my right. Once it is off the roll, it seems to work like other gaffer tapes I've used. The matte black does its job and blends into a black surface. If you have arms like a gorilla you'll appreciate this tape, but if you have more than five feet or so of cable to secure look for other options.

Lol I thought this was grip tape and just tried regripping my golf club with it. Didn’t go well. Probably works good for its intended purpose though😂🤦🏻♂️

A friend suggested this to improve the acoustics of my keyboard switches (put it inside the switch, so the tape cushions the plastic) and it works great. It also helped with the acoustics of the keyboard. While using it, I saw how clean and easy it was to remove the tape. I just started using it for everything that I knew I would have to removed it eventually. It keeps PCB in place while I was soldering, some cables together for organization, etc Do not use for hot stuff, like inside a laptop, there are tapes proper for that.

No se puede utilizar se desprende el adhesivo al tratar de desenrollar para ser usado y la mitad de la cara de la cinta queda sin adhesivo

Update November 2025. I don’t know why but we used the same roll again and it literally ripped the wood from its surface. Overtime the stickiness became unbearable and just handling the tape is an absolute mess. I won’t be buying it again. Reduced the stars because of this. Original: purchased this as a temporary seal going into the winter for the attic knowing we had to go back in, in about three weeks with plans to do our usual attic seal after. We then noticed the closet where our attic hatch is, is much warmer than it was. We've used winterized sealants and plastic to close this for years and the closet was always so cold in winter, creating heat loss too. Then removing everything is a pain. Surprisingly, there are no drafts with this on, so it’s now our permanent winter seal. I had to take it off once because we had mice. Came off easy, no residue. Then 3 minutes to put the tape back on. My husband and I are so grateful for the accidental find.
