Our biopellets are manafactured from pure Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), from a strain of bacteria specifically for use in aquaria systems. Biopellets are a popular method of reducing phosphate and nitrate levels in your aquarium. The pellets provide a food source for bacteria that also consume nitrate and phosphate. As your tank water passes through the biopellet reactor, bacteria get flushed off the pellets and enter the aquarium's water column, where they consume nitrates. Then the bacteria is removed through several methods, including protein skimmer, and consumption by tank inhabitants. The bacteria may also convert the nitrate to nitrogen gas. Starting dosage is approximately 300mL per 75 gallons of aquarium water. Place pellets in a suitable media reactor and adjust flow to keep them tumbling gently. Review: Great Product for a great price - My Nitrates where extremely high Ive tried pellets years ago and didnt really have the patience but thought Id give it another go. I was in the 50+ppm on my test kit and nothing was looking that great. I fired these up with a pretty decent tumble and was expecting not to see much of a change 4 8 weeks. Well withing 3-4 weeks my tank had dropped to zero. Which kind of shocked me. Didnt do anything else fancy just normal 10% water change weekly. So they worked for me. I will buy again to replenish. Review: Solid - works just as advertised

Caused film.
These beads were super light weight and caused film all over.

I love this stuff!
I’ve been using this since 2019. The cheapest brand that I know of…Helps my nitrates low. No water change for over 5 years. Heavy bioload.

Didn't dissolve
I have ran another manufacture's biopellets for years in my heavily stocked 400g reef with amazing success. The only drawback to the ones I was running was that they were about 3x the cost of these, and often hard to get. I decided to give these a try as the price point was right. After running them for 2 months, my PO4 was off the charts. I opened up the reactor to see if by chance I had run out. Turns out they looked brand new. There was the same amount of pellets that I started with, meaning they weren't dissolving at all. No wonder my PO4 skyrocketed. I threw these out and went back to the old brand.

Works, lower your alk though.
Takes about 4 or 5 weeks to kick in but when they do prepare for your skimmer to kick some nasty stuff out. Also make sure you keep your alk a little lower while carbon dosing or you'll bleach lps/SPS. I have to keep mine around 7.5-8 where as before I was more around 10-11dkh.
