Of course our interesting protagonist is above all the savage idiots trying to survive in this kaiju apocalypse, can't even have him look even a little bit flawed.Meanwhile, the only human characters of interest, the two psychic twins, get very little screen time, and monster battles are short and infrequent, and we don't get much closure on them.The only reason I would recommend reading the Kingdom of Monster series to anyone is if you are an absolute stickler for collecting a full continuity, as this does eventually lead into the Godzilla ongoing and then Rulers of the Earth, both of which are much better comics. ### ⭐ Just aggravating *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2013* First off, the monsters. The story is very bland, monster in places for no reason. At least in Final Wars they gave us the context that the monster had been attacking for centuries and later it gave us an exact reason for all the monsters acting as they did. This reads like it was written by a twelve year old who just watched a couple Godzilla movies, or even just one who played a video game about Godzilla. I say the latter for it lacks all understanding of the monsters. Final Wars isn't a bad film but, this book shares its problem, a story with too many monsters suffers from a lack of focus and screen time for its creatures.Another thing is the people within the story. Yes they are all very bland but, i think i could deal with it if that was their only fault. They don't act like people. There reactions are nonsensical, sure some Godzilla movies, normally from the dubbing, have clunky dialogue but, the meaning behind the lines are normally a human and understandable idea. People shouting lines that could be replaced by "I hope this doesn't have a horribly ironic outcome," without really changing anything. And the president, who is named Babak Khan Ogden is so in your face about how he is Obama but not actually its annoying. And for some reason his character gives speeches on the economic crisis during a monster rampage. Did FDR talk about any other problems when he addressed pearl harbor, no because he was human and not a joke. This story has a mean-spirited political atmosphere without actually taking a clear side. Its unnecessary and annoying. ### ⭐⭐ boring *by S***2 on Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2015* Just doesn't feel like Godzilla. I used to love him as a kid.
