Bentgo Fresh Leak-Proof Bento Lunch Box, 4 Compartments, BPA-Free

We bought this just under two years ago. I loved the idea and even though it was pricey, the reviews were great. It has lived up to the hype. The portions are better for adults, but we fill them only half full for our kids and it's fine. Everything is leak proof as far as we've used it for nearly 2 years, with the exception of the little removable divider that has no expectation of being leak proof as it's simply a little insert to split the large compartment in half. I saw some reviews that had mentions of mold growing in the rubber sealing parts and we made sure to promptly clean to avoid that although we weren't all that prompt more frequently than I want to admit. All that said we never had any mold or other issues. Most recently when I was hand washing the outer shell a small flaw in the hinge broke and I reached out to customer service to take advantage of the two-year warranty. The process was incredibly smooth, very easy and they responded on a weekend even. I sent photos and proof of purchase and a new one should arrive shortly. I have already bought one other to rotate with the replacement and am considering one or two more. I have bought other cheaper versions and they have all fallen apart more quickly and without any warranty. The quality is remarkable, definitely worth the money and their customer service just adds to the quality.

This is the second Bentgo lunchbox I have purchased. I purchased this one because the older model does not include a compartment large enough for a full, uncut sandwich. This model is significantly wider than the slimmer version. It's still fine, but I do wish they would have made this one as thin as last one. I find the additional depth of this model a bit more bulky than necessary. That said, I would still purchase again because overall it's still smaller than most other bento style lunchbox options, and definitely smaller than a traditional children's lunchbox. Although I don't use it, the sandwich compartment comes with a removable partition in case you wish to further section off food. The compartments are very generous, and easy to pack any common lunch fair such as popcorn, pretzels, apple slices, cheese sticks, baby carrots, raising, full sized sandwich on wider artisan bread, etc. I love the fact that this lunchbox (just like the original model) does not need a carrying case. To wash, simply remove inner tray then wash and allow to dry. It's dishwasher safe, but I just hand wash mine because it's so convenient and washes up so fast and easy. Other than wishing this model was less deep, there are really no negatives to this purchase. The deeper compartments do allow you carry more generous portions of things like potato chips if desired - this may be more of a plus for older users since they eat more than primary school students. Again, it's not really an issue and I'd buy this over and again. I own plenty of other lunchboxes, but this is my go to for daily use!

This is our 3rd Bentgo Box purchase. We started with the Bentgo Kids. It served us well from pre-school through first grade. It is still great for taking snacks to the beach, park, day camp, etc. Then we bought the Bengo Fresh and the Bentgo Stainless steel models to accommodate increased appetites. I LOVE them all. All three boxes have been easy for kiddos to open/close and are truly leakproof. Want to pack chicken salad and crackers for lunch? Not a problem, everything stays in its own compartment. I like having everything in one container. The box fits easily into a backpack, and at the end of the day, I am not stuck with a bunch of small containers to wash (assuming they make it home), and I don't need to use plastic baggies or other single-use containers. It saves me money and is good for the planet. Win-win. The bento box design and portions allow for enough variety to keep kids interested in their own lunch. The entire unit can go in the dishwasher too. I usually hand wash the outer case and throw the inserts into the machine. It's just easy. All three models have proved durable. One of the boxes had a hinge that failed, but Bento Customer Service quickly resolved the issue. No hassles. They stand by their products.

My 4 year old loves Bentgo products. With various color and print options to choose from he likes his lunch box along with its matching lunch bag and ice packs. It holds the perfect amount of food and compartments are just the right size and helps to pack variety of food/snacks without any leakage. easy to clean and easier for kids to open the box by themselves. The only reason for giving a 4 star rating is that the latches aren't durable and breaks easily. However Bentgo has got amazing customer service and are quick to respond and solve any issues we had with the bentgo products.

I have tried so many different types of lunch boxes and containers for my son and have had problems with all of them. The biggest issue with most of them is that they don't keep food fresh long because they're not totally sealed, so, for example if I were to cut up apples and carrots the night before, put them in the lunchbox and put the lunchbox in the fridge, by morning everything would be brown and wilty. With this box I feel like I can prep lunch the night before and not worry about it! I put apples in one small compartment, carrots in the other, and use the main large compartment for his protein bar, snack size chips and a fun size kit kat or something like that. I also love that the Bentgo fits inside his Super Mario lunch bag PERFECTLY, and I can even throw a freezer thingy on top and put his juice or milk box on top of that and zip the whole thing up! No need for separate containers. It's VERY easy to open and close and seals very well. The BEST part about it is that you can just pull the food container out of the hinged part and throw it in the dishwasher or rinse it quickly in the sink between uses. It's very, very convenient. The box is high quality and well made and doesn't feel the least bit cheap. My son loves it and so do it! Thanks Bentgo! And yes, I paid full price for it!

I bought two of these lunchboxes for our two toddlers in preschool. We have used them for about a month now. They are truly leak-proof and super easy to clean which were the main reasons we bought them. The old lunchboxes from a different company that we had always grew mold around the rubber casing in the lids and were very hard to clean due to their design. The rubber casing in the lid of this Bentgo box is designed in a way that it is very easy to clean and does not allow for food or moisture to get stuck. The bright color options for these boxes are also nice. I also like the divider which you can remove or put in to make the lunchbox 3 or 4 spaces. I've found this to be a very convenient and flexible option depending on what we send for lunch for the kids. I've seen a few people talk about the boxes being a bit heavy. Although they are bigger than several other boxes on the market, I don't find this to be an issue. You get used to it and it also allows ample space for more food as your kid grow. We now use these boxes not just for their school but anytime we go out somewhere. They are just so convenient. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and this product is awesome.

The Bentgo Fresh is a high-quality product that fully considers the needs of the end user. I love the color options, as well as the free e-book of bento ideas that comes with the lunch box. The two small drawbacks I found is the divider for the largest compartment doesn’t create a full seal to the other side, and also that the box only allows you to have food at a single temperature. I knew this when I was purchasing, so this wasn’t a deal breaker for me – just something to consider when buying. This is my go-to lunch box for single meals served at a single temperature (i.e. only hot/cold lunch, or only hot/cold dinner), but I would recommend a different lunch box with removable compartments if you’re a person who eats six small meals a day (at different temperatures) like I do. For this Bentgo box, I can fit avocado-egg toast and string cheese in the largest compartment, cherry tomatoes in the small compartment, and cucumber sticks in the other small compartment. On pasta days, be sure to use a thicker sauce (e.g. Bolognese) to limit leakage from one side of the removable divider to the other. As an alternative to lunch, I sometimes pack this box with a dinner for the boyfriend when he gets home late after work. The removable tray is easy to clean, so why not? The thing that really sold me on Bentgo products was the customer service. It’s impeccable how much they care about the quality of their products and the satisfaction of their customers, so I would highly recommend not only this box, but also their line of products to anyone.

I bought these for my 4yo for preschool. The first thing I noticed is that it is a beautiful lunchbox but its very big and heavy for a 4yo. It holds a lot of food...a lot, might be better for older kids. In terms of leak proof, I think it may hold liquid from spilling out of the box but not between compartments. So if you had crackers in one and saucey pasta on the other, you might end up with soggy crackers. I will report back after more use. It is very easy to clean, assemble and reassemble for adults. Kids may have trouble closing the lid. My one son has trouble closing the box, so let's see if he breaks the box or not. If you dont close the lid just right it doesnt lock into place...if your child tries to slam it shut when it's not closed properly then the hinges may break. I have twins, my one son has no problems closing it and the other one struggles. Overall, I am happy. Looked around for something lighter and couldn't find one. I will try this for a while and report back if I have more to add. I also bought rubbermade bunchblox. I want to compare. Edit:been using for a week, boys love it and dont complain about the weight at all. I found one con. There are a lot of crevices one you detach the tray...make sure to get it dry so it doesnt grow mold.

I was looking for a product to replace all the lunch containers that were starting to take up too much room in my kitchen. I was tired of washing multiple lunch containers at the end of the day. This was the perfect buy. I have 2 little kids, there is PLENTY of room in these lunch kits to fit a large meal and snacks. I went with this size (read reviews the kids size was maybe too small) BC I wanted it to grow with them and it definitely will be able to. Leak proof and super easy to clean and they fit perfectly in their lunch bag. So happy with this purchase. I'm a lifer!

Bought the item as I was hoping to keep the container side ways in my bag. Invariably leaks if the food comes with a bit of gravy.
