There is also a bilingual Transit Map Overview to see how all the parts connect. Tokyo's address system is unique. Few streets are named. Building addresses are not related to streets names and may not be sequential. Addresses are based on city wards (which can measure several sq miles), the chome or subdistrict, and the banchi or block which vary in size and may contain 3-5 buildings. Here is how to find your way: Look for Chome names on telephone or street light poles and the corners of major buildings. A typical address may read as follows: 1 4 8 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo or at times like this: 4 8 Roppongi, 1 chome. The 1 is the chome, 4 is the block number, and 8 the building number. Roppongi is the district, Minatu-Ku is the city ward and Tokyo is the city. Tokyo arguably has the best public transportation systems in the world. It is without doubt the fastest way to get around town. Subway stations and cars are well marked in both English and Japanese. There are 12 subway lines criss-crossing the city and one can transfer freely between them. There are also four private Toei lines with their own fare system all shown clearly in the system map with the local detail right on the street map. They key is finding the right exit which are clearly marked on all maps. So get StreetSmart Tokyo to travel confidently and gain instant Tokyo StreetSmarts. Review: Awesome Tool for Traveling Japan! - This provided additional support when navigating Japan. We loved how easy it was to place in our pack, and to unfold as needed. Tokyo has fantastic signage for travelers, but this added extra comfort and ease. Top Quality material, and the way the train lines were shown was a game-changer! Review: Be aware - This map is great at the areas it shows, and I love that itโs laminated. However some key areas are missing (Akihabara, Ikebukoro, etc) that really should be in here for tourist.

Much more than just a map: all essential Information in your pocket
This superbly designed folding map has all essential information in one place and it fits in your back pocket. In addition to a series of detailed and well marked maps of Tokyo's neighborhoods, the 18 panels contain handy information about top attractions, hotels by neighborhood, a list of major buildings, parks, shrines & temples, and even a guide the this city's convoluted street address system as well as a metro subway, commuter & train map. A must have for preparing a trip and finding your way once there.

Good map but printing is off
This map is helpful as a reference for the major areas of Tokyo. There is also a separate subway/train map. My only issue is, the print is cut off on both sides and the Metro Stations section is not quite complete as the print was cut off.

Great product, super useful
Great product, super useful. Solid, doesn't wrinkle or crack. Would be great during monsoon season, but I never go there then. Crystal clear graphics, nice layout.

Hard to Read
Really wish the map showed all of Tokyo and surrounding area on the same side. It's confusing having to flip it over to find another section on the opposite side. On the plus side, it does give a great explanation of how addresses work in Japan.
