Black+Decker BCK279D2 20V MAXAxial Leaf Blower and String Trimmer Combo Kit

This is a great combo for light general yard maintenance. The weed whacker does a good job on weeds won't take out large plants but for edging it's light and comfortable. Blower is strong but won't last long enough to clear a yard of leaves. Plenty long enough to blow out flower beds and clear the driveway. No more messing with gas and oil and struggling to get them started.

I needed a new string trimmer and saw this with the more powerful blower and decided it was a great deal so I'd go for it. I have to say I love the more powerful blower but they included a battery that is not strong enough and will overheat before it uses up the battery. Once that happens the blower stops and you can not charge the battery till it cools down. I think it went about 8 minutes before that happened. I have lots of batteries so I could put another in but this is a design flaw. This blower needs to come with a stronger ah battery. I asked about it here and was told to contact black and decker so I did. I got a phone number and called them and they seemed aware of the problem and offered to send me a high Ah battery no questions asked. It should be delivered today so that will be good. I did try to buy an off brand one but it ended up not working because the cheap connectors bent when I tried to install it. I should get the new battery today and I think it will be better. I will say with the powerful blower it takes me only about 5 minutes to blow my driveway and sidewalk after I mow. You might not even notice the short run time unless you use it longer. I'm glad I noticed because in the fall with leaves I'm going to be using this longer. It has way more power than the smaller one from B+D which I had. The string trimmer is really small and is ok for me as I'm only edging a little here and there but if you have a lot of edging to do this thing will be slow going. It's sort of for a suburban size lawn. We have about a quarter acre. I do not have a lot to edge but my last edger was wider and did it faster. If you are looking for a bigger edger maybe keep looking. For me it's adequate though, and the battery works fine for the edger. Overall decent and Black and Decker was very accommodating in helping me get a bigger battery. Thanks for reading my review

I ordered this, it came earlier today. The batteries was taking forever to charge but I had other batteries from my old weed eater and used them instead. Both the weed wacker and the blower worked great. I came in to see how the batteries was charging, they wasn't!! I looked at batteries for anything to give me a clue, then found it, the batteries was made in 2018 and refuse to 6ake a charge, let alone, hold a charge!! I call Amazon, they tell me that they are going to send me a complete new set up, even though it is just the batteries. I tried to explain that I just need the batteries, and what am I to do if the same battery issue comes with the new unit. They then tell me that I will need to send both units back, then they will refund my money. Again, all I need is new batteries!! So now I will have to drive 40 mile to return either 1or2 combo kits.. UPDATE!!! A new unit was sent and I received it yesterday, from the same place that I received the first weed eater, blower combo from. Imagine this, it had the same bad battery packs as the first. Talked with a nice lady from whatever country and at 1st she told me that she would just put enough money on my account to buy a new battery packs kit since this 2nd combo kit had bad batteries. I started to use the money which would have been 29.95 but she goes OH NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT! She then explained that the batteries had to be sold and come from Amazon. I tried to find a kit but couldn't, she finally found the batteries for 79.95 and approved that amount. She showed me!! 50.00 extra to show me who is in charge. The down side is that I won't receive the batteries for over two weeks. I can't be waiting for over a month for a weedwacker during the summer. I tried to explain this but it didn't matter. After I receive my batteries I will leave Amazon for good. There are several places that sell the things that I need.

Awesome little tools. Trimmed my whole yard and blew the patio, sidewalk and porch off with one battery. It’s not made to clear a field, but it worked great on my property in the city.

I use this battery powered leaf blower for a medium sized yard and it works quite well. I'd say the battery that comes with the blower gives you 10 minutes of air. That's about enough to clean off your sidewalks of grass, etc. I bought an off-brand 6mah battery for $30 on Amazon, and it'll last 25 minutes or so, which is very solid and does a decent job with leaves in the fall. The airflow .. isn't as much as my corded blower, but I'd say plenty for light to medium jobs, so I'm giving this 5 stars.

The product was easy to use and lightweight. My only issue is the battery life when using the blower. I went through 1 and a half batteries for a small front yard. Buy an extra battery and u should be ok.

This is my second trimmer in five years, I'm very happy with that amount of years. Now this is my first battery operated leaf blower. Very light weight the first time using the blower it went off on high, just after seconds, have to see first what I'm doing wrong. I think you need the grey battery so next time I'll put the grey battery. I like Black and Decker tools very much, for me they last well over 5 years. So the brand works for me I trust their equipment. So as long as I'm happy, we all are happy

Weed Wacker only 1 speed, works ok, not as good as the 2 speed weed Wacker black and Decker makes. Blow is a sweeper on low, and can move leaves on high setting, I use to blow off drive way and deck etc. on high battery dies very quick. Not effective enough to clear leaves from lawn.
