Well made, strong, easy to use

This is a good quality fine strainer, a must for removing fruit pulp and ice shards from cocktails. Double straining using this with a Hawthorne strainer ensures that the drink looks good and has the best texture. Drinks made with fresh fruit juices particularly benefit from this method, as do shaken drinks served without ice (such as Espresso Martini). The mesh of the strainer and its conical shape ensure that liquid can pass through quickly leaving the pulp and ice fragments behind. The strainer is then easy to clean by knocking the solid material out of it before rinsing through with water. This strainer is good value and does a good job at keeping cocktails smooth and clear.

This one feels great in your hand, has a nice bit of weight to it. The handle eventually broke off but it took a solid 13+ months of battering in a full time high volume bar service job before giving up so I've just bought a new one. Even more expensive ones break the same way so value for money wise this is a great tool

I bought this for making cocktails at home where straining when pouring from the shaker is advisable, but have also found another use for it. One of the problems in making good poached eggs is that if the egg is not more than a day or so old, it makes strings of albumen in the water. The cure is to strain the egg to remove the more watery albumen before dropping it in to the water. A tea strainer is no good because the mesh has to be large enough to take the full volume of the egg. This strainer does the job perfectly. And it strains cocktails well too.

Like all BarFly products this is well made and a treat to use. It is deep enough to collect pieces of muddled ingredients without making the pour time too long and hence keeping your cocktail as cold as possible. Love it and strongly recommend it.

Well built, good shape and arrived quickly and well packaged. Was everything I expected and a good addition to the collection.

Should have read the reviews, it came damaged like a lot of the others, the mesh was all mashed up. I was able to undent it a bit though. Also this does not sit on the shaker as the handle is too heavy. I would have preferred if it did. Other than that its good quality.

I really like the quality of barfly products, and this mesh strainer holds its own just as their others. The stainless steel design is sleek and durable, making it ideal for everyday use in a busy bar setting. Being able to throw it in the dishwasher and not having to worry about any decay is great.
