I went ahead and bought one of these because I have a paranoid mind and sometimes think what if my house burns while I’m not home. Anyway I have a safe that is fire safe that I keep my documents and other thing in but I still wonder if it’ll be enough. This document pouch was so cheap I decided to get it just for reassurance. During covid I had the hardest time getting an original social security card for my son, I never wanna go through that headache again. So I’m not protecting our documents anyway I can. Arrived and I saw that is was bigger than I thought it would be so that was a plus. I noticed it feels like rubbery material which I assume is the fire proof coating... I did a little lighter test and it actually wouldn’t let the flame near the pouch. It would move all around it but not make contact. So I put all our most important documents of mine, my husband and 5 kids inside. It fit well with room to spare. The zipper moves with ease. I’m not sure if smoke will get it through the zipper, likely will never know cause I don’t plan to light the whole thing up. I feel good enough that this will work as planned. Fit great in my safe. For $10 bucks I got a little more peace of mind. I plan to get a few more cause my kids are starting to move out and get their own homes. I will give them their important documents in it as a little gift, if you wanna call it that. This is would be great for inside vehicles to. You can never be sure what will happen in life. Well, I guess I like this product. It's larger than I anticipated. I bought it without having any specific application in mind. Interestingly enough, it's a perfect size to hold my SurfacePro and keyboard, so I plan to pack it in it, although not sure if it's in fact water "proof", per se. Water resistant, yes. Fire resistant? I hope I never have to find out! It feels pretty durable, but only time will tell on that. It would be nice if it had handles at the top, like a small briefcase.

Great price! Works as expected - the exterior is solid and has a thick coating to protect your documents. I was surprised that I was able to fit more than I expected in this pouch. Would recommend, and would purchase again.

Now if you read the negative reviews it will keep you from buying. Don’t go based on them for your purchase. This bag is quite large for almost all needs. The material it is made of sold me because if you can cook and pick up hot items with this type material then it very well can protect your items. I have a fireproof safe, but as everyone knows it only can protect items for a limited time. This bag will add to the my length of time if the house catches fire. There is some concern about the water resistance. The reasoning for one less star rating on water. If concerned double protect with zip lock bags. I will. I think this was a great purchase. Nothing is completely foolproof, but added protection is always a good idea. I would buy again.

So there's some people here in the question area talking about this product being made of silicone. It's not. Perhaps there's silicone in the thread but it's definitely not silicone. So the build quality is outstanding. I pulled and stretched with all my might but couldn't get the seams to tear. The zipper is very good quality and smooth. Though keep in mind that if you want it completely closed you'll have to pull tight at the end as it likes to stay open just a hair. I tested it under water and it's definitely good protection from getting wet if it were dropped in the rain or accidental spills but I didn't submerge it. I also hit it with a torch. Fullblast and it didn't set on fire. Warning. It DOES get VERY hot but nothing was damaged inside. Not even the silky thin inside. I recommend this because it saved my test documents (random cardstock and printed materials) from burning and an "accidental" splash. This bag gets the job done!

The bag was exactly as described but it arrived and was dirty inside with what looked like spilt tea or coffee. I had to wash the bag by hand . If it was not such an ordeal to return ( especially in COVID) I would have. Very disappointed and confused as to why it would arrive in this state

The bag size is exactly as specified. 9" x 12" envelopes fit well withing the bag. The bag is just small enough to fit in a 12-1/4" d x 14-3/4" w safe. Good way to keep important documents. Relatively easy to retrieve the bags from the safe. I trust the temperature rating is accurate.
