I love Anne Clark cookie cutters. These products are sturdy, rust resistant and functional. I have purchased various shapes and themes over the years. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the products. My family often use the shapes to make unique designs for our annual cookie contests. I am giving my rating only 4 stars because the 7 piece baby shower cutters only had 6 pieces, and two of the cutters were not the baby shower theme. I had to individually order the three missing cutters. This was only the first time in all my Anne Clark purchases that I didn’t receive all that was included in a themed cookie cutter order. If order was 100%, then this order would have been a 5-star.

Good cookie cutters, perfect for baby shower favors!

I've made several batches now, and these work great. I have many Xmas metal cookie cutters I've accumulated over the years, and they are the best ones. These ones are like ones I've bought in past. Love them. They come with a booklet by the gal selling, who sells accessories like food colouring. The booklet has a recipe, much like every other sugar cookie recipe, but she doesn't use baking powder. Most recipes call for 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder, and my first batch I used it and they puffed up and spread out so much, that the shape was lost, especially the baby carriage. Next recipe I cut the baking powder down to 1/4 tsp and shapes were retained. I think it's safe to say one could leave it out entirely. Also, like ginger cookies, if you find your cookies are too hard, just add more butter. Experiment with adding 1/8 cup more to start and see how you like it. Most recipes called for 2/3's cup to 2 cups flour, I did 3/4 cup butter to 2 3/4 cup flour, but I also added 2 T of milk. The recipe that comes with the cookie cutters used 1 cup unsalted butter, no milk and 2 1/2 cups sifted flour. I think my next batch I'm going to try this recipe. I may update to say how it worked out. The recipe calls for 1 tsp vanilla, most others called for 1 1/2 tsp vanilla. BUT ... Here is another alternative. Instead of using vanilla, use 1 1/2 tsp Almond Extract plus 1 T Lemon Zest & 1/2 tsp lemon juice. Hmmmm ... delicious. My humble opinion of course! I'm baking for Baby Shower for my daughter, so for that special occasion, these are perfect and I would recommend. They are sturdy. I think they may be tin or aluminum. They don't rust. They clean in the dishwasher easily or by hand. The cut side is sharp enough to make a clean cut through the dough, but not so sharp it would cut a finger, and the top side is rolled over so it doesn't hurt your hand when you push down. I've now decorated a few. The recipe in the booklet calls for Meringue Powder, which I didn't have. So, I used eggs whites (room temperature). As I'm experimenting, I kind of halved the recipe, thus instead of 3 egg whites, I used 2 egg whites and halved the amount of Cream of Tartar from 1/2 tsp to 1/4 tsp. I added only 2 T warm water & approximately 3 cups of icing sugar to get that heavy pouring cream affect. I didn't want it too thin. I put it into small freezer bags and the tip off so it would be small, but come out easily. Less than an 1/8". If you don't cover every section just use a toothpick to move the icing around a bit and It will all flow in and smooth out nicely. If writing something on top, let the icing sit for about an hour to dry out. Otherwise, it's liable to blend in with the colour beneath. Happy decorating!
