The U joint is simple and basic, light duty, but is pretty well built. I used a pair of these and some shafting to mechanically remote control fuel valves that were located in the engine room of my boat. If there were ever a fire in the engine room, getting to the fuel valves to shut them off would be near impossible. I drilled a hole through the steel bulkhead and welded in a 1/2" pipe, ran the shaft through the pipe and articulated the direction of the shafting using the U-joints, welded on a handle and it works just dandy. The only problems I had were the tiny allen setscrews that are supposed to hold the shaft to the U-joint were somewhat untrustworthy and the wrench sent with them stripped out on application of any torque, so I tig welded the U-joint to the shaft. The U-Joints come apart with a circlip (don't lose it!) and went back together easily. Another reviewer suggested drilling the shaft and using roll pins, that would be a good approach as well, the shafts I used were hardened so welding worked best for me. Overall for the price, a good purchase. McMaster had something similar for 3 times the price.

I bought a snow blower second hand and tried to call the manufacturer, they said I couldn't get a part similar to this one for a few months and I think it would've been expensive too! Luckily I found this one and it works amazing! It very nicely machined and crafted!

Excellent product! Small and Compact, comes complete with set screws, and Allen wrench! Haven't used it yet to see about durability but I'm sure it will hold up fine. I'm going to use it for my snowblower chute crank handle.

I thought it would be a little more rugged. But it does what U-Joints do.
