Review: Resperate works wonderfully if you put effort into doing it - I personally don't know what I would have done without the Resperate. I went to the hospital initially, on August 1st of this year, because I was told by a doctor that my blood pressure was 260/110. I have no idea how long it had been that high since I never took my blood pressure, always thinking it was low (as it used to be) and that I just had a very high pulse rate since a foot accident a couple of years back. I had suffered a mini-stroke, my right arm was going numb, and my right eye was temporarily partially blinded by the episode. I was in shock, as I only weighed 116 at the time, rarely drank, didn't smoke, and ate very healthy meals. As a 60-year-old woman, this was catastrophic, and I was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital. I also had extremely high platelets, reaching well over a million during my second hospital stay. I also went to the ER twice after my two hospital stays, scared out of my wits because my blood pressure would not stabilize and was still in the 200s, even with blood pressure pills. I was told that I had "resistant hypertension," which frightened me even more. I thought I would die from this. On October 15 of this year, two and a half months from my first hospitalization, the day my blood pressure readings were still extremely high at 220/110, I received the Resperate in the mail. I had had misgivings and lots of skepticism about it because of the price and whether it would even work for me, but at that point, I had nothing to lose. After a crash course in blood pressure and platelet pills, I could see the writing on the wall, that I needed something more besides the pills, exercise, and eating healthily. I have never turned back after my first Resperate session. BUT - I've used it every single day since then, for at least an hour a day most days except maybe two. I started out using it for an hour and a half for a few months. As I felt more confident about my bp readings, I began using it for an hour. A few times I've used it only 3 times a day instead of 4, 5, or 6. If a day is particularly stressful (which, in evaluating my reasons for having extremely high bp, I determined that I was holding my breath a lot with very shallow breathing, a fight-or-flight syndrome kind of breath that I'd had for decades), I'll lie down and use the Resperate a couple of times to calm down and get lower readings. At first it was difficult to even lie down and be relaxed enough to use the Resperate. My anxiety hit the roof. I was given anti-anxiety pills, which have helped a great deal to help lower my bp for a day, but I use them sparingly. My lifesaver has indeed been the Resperate machine. Now, five and a half months later, my blood pressure is manageable. I have even had a reduction of dose in one of the pills. My ultimate goal is to be off all pills at some point, and with the Resperate, I believe that's possible. I cannot say enough about this little machine and am astounded that more people with high blood pressure aren't using it. When I think of the costs of pills and who knows what side effects they inflict upon the body over time, I think it's worth its weight in gold. And I'm someone who has to pay out of pocket for a lot of medical bills and who has a very high deductible. I don't understand why people use it only a couple of times a week, unless their blood pressure is at borderline hypertension. I would not ever have gotten my blood pressure to the 120s and 130s, some 140s for the most part (occasional spikes included at this point), I don't think, this soon, without having the Resperate machine. In fact, at this point, I'm more worried about my platelets than I am about the blood pressure. I can control the blood pressure with the Resperate and with being mindful about my breath and stress/anxiety, but my platelets must still be experiencing inflammation from the medical catastrophe I went through recently. I would recommend anyone to the Resperate!!! But the time has to be put into it in order to reap the tremendous rewards. I know that it's working for me, big time, and I feel that it can work for anyone who puts the time and effort into it. I truly don't know where I'd be without it. It's helped save my life, I'm certain of that. The pills can only do so much. The Resperate is the real champion here. God bless the man who invented this!!!
Review: Really Remarkable Results in Each Session in Lowering Diastolic Especially - This is one of those tools that only works if you have the discipline to use it regularly. The initial set up can take a little adjusting - for me around the chest worked best, and the exact placement of the sensor took a few tries to be correct. Be patient the first few times and get this right and you won't be interrupted during the session with requests to tighten or loosen the sensor. Just finished a 10 minute sessions and took my BP before and right after. It lowered systolic by 18 points, and dystolic by an astounding 41 points. I recently had a severe allergic reaction to an ace inhibitor medication after years of taking it - ended up in the ER. I have had a few days with no medication while we work out what I should take. My BP was spiking sans medication, so I took it seriously that I needed to try everything else I could to keep this from happening - those spikes can be very damaging. I have always believed strongly in biofeedback type therapies - your mind is an incredible thing and can really help you self-regulate. I think that is why I like this more than just doing deep breathing/meditation. You get immediate feedback. For example, it first measures my normal breathing at the high BP mark at 16 breaths per minute. Within minutes it gets me into the therapeutic zone of 10 breaths a minute. Then the biofeedback aspect of seeing that number drop encourages me to slow down, take deeper breaths and relax. By the end I was hovering between 4.5 and 5 breaths per minute. I close my eyes, but open them every minute to see where I am, then try to slow down more. My goal is to not have to take medication because recently I have become more sensitized to all these substances - maybe menopause/hormone changes? I've got a list of every food known to lower BP and I've cut out all processed foods. I believe this device will not only help me while using it, but will remind me during the day that if I'm feeling stressed I can slow down my breathing and relax.

### ⭐⭐ Resperate ASIN:B0007N0Y3E
*by B***Y on June 23, 2015*

I thought at first it was going to work well but then with continuing use I was not getting any needed improvement. The program has the intended goal of lowering your breathing rate which it seemed to be teaching. But with the time being lengthened for each breath I was frustrated with the difficulty of determining the breath-in tone from other tones that I thought was breath out but it wasn't.Although I was getting an efficiency rate of about 57% it was not helping my blood pressure. I was since prescribed a hot eye compress over each eye for a dry eye problem to be done twice a day for 15 minutes and it was also dropping down the blood pressure so I am not likely to use the resperate method. ASIN:B00007N0Y3E, See the book by Dr Herbert Benson "The Relaxion Response" for simple thought procedures during the 15 minutes.,
