My go-to BBQ rub
This is an absolutely fantastic all-rounder rub that I use on all sorts. It works on chicken, pork, fish, you name it (beef not so much, but there are some great beef rubs available from A&O). I use it on things that I bbq and also it is great if you have a smoker - pulled pork, ribs, chicken etc all benefit. I also use it to make quicker dishes when I can't be bothered to set up the bbq or smoker. Butterfly some chicken breasts, give them a liberal sprinkling of The General and shallow-fry, blackening the outside of the chicken as you do so. The flavour is immense and makes for a great midweek meal that is prepared and cooked inside 30 minutes. Obviously do leave the meat to marinate for at least an hour, preferably overnight for truly epic flavour.

Rub it
Good fl;avour to the rub, if I was going to critique i would say no need for the fennel as the aniseed flavour can overpower the BBQ flavour.

Flavor . Add a little . Add a lot.
I was buying a well recognized BBQ seasoning for general use , but pricey and used a lot , so i looked around and found Angus & Oink The General Texas BBQ Seasoning & Rub. Have not used as a rub , yet. General kitchen seasoning . I make my own chips . Place potatoes washed , chipped and wash to remove excess starch , dry a little and put in a bowl with a tablespoon of oil with the seasoning ,shake . Get them well coated . Heat oven to 220 fan .You vary the temperature to your needs , just a guide. When i do a roast , i use the seasoning on meat whole or chopped . Also add it to stir fry. Like i said . 'it is universal , little , a lot. Just look at the kilo/pound cost of seasoning , and you will see who takes the wee wee .. Happy cooking x

Great range of go-to spices, and this one does all.
The brand has a great range of spices, however it you want just one in your cupboard, then this is a safe choice. Great depth of flavour but still let's the meat be the star show.

The best
This is just SOOOO good on potato wedges, just cut your wedges, add a splash of olive oil and some of "The General" and mix up to coat well, pop in the oven at 180C for 30-40min turning them over at half-time. Don't use too much, it's hot stuff, heheheh! Lasts ages. So pleased to find this on Amazon, otherwise you have to hunt for it in specialist delicatessens.

Briskit salt marinated for 24hrs 8 large onions soften by stir fry then place in roasting tray Add 1 pint of brown gravy Mix with 3 teaspoons of marinate Seal briskit over hot pan then place on top of onions Seal tightly with tin foil Oven bake for 1hour per pound Take out after cooking and rest for 1hr before cutting Add 1tbsp of marinate to gravy Enjoy🤣🤣🤣 Drops to pieces and the marinate us really good Can taste Oregano Chilli Pepper Peppercorns Herbs Will be using again best briskit iv ever cooked.mmmmmm
