The end of the handle goes black if sat in a toothbrush mug. The colours are nice but not overly bright. At first it was slightly odd to have the taste of wood while brushing my teeth but this soon disappeared, or I became used to it! The bristles are soft but still firm enough for a good clean. I like these brushes as they provide a clean just as good as plastic ones I have previously been using but they are environmentally friendly.
