Works as advertised
Works fine with Canon Powershot D10. The adapter doesn't get hot, and the plugs all fit well. Includes battery shaped (Canon NB-6L) adapter for the models that don't have an external plug. Looks like it should work but I haven't tested since the D10 has an external socket.

Caveat Emptor
Caveat Emptor: This AC adapter does not work with the Canon PowerShot SX500 despite the fact that they advertise it as such. The AC adapter works by fitting into the battery compartment in a little attachment that is exactly the same size as a regular battery, to "trick" the camera into thinking it's got a battery installed. And the battery adapter does fit into the compartment on the camera. HOWEVER -- the camera WILL NOT TURN ON if the BATTERY COMPARTMENT DOOR IS NOT CLOSED. And you CANNOT CLOSE IT with this adapter stuck into the bottom of the camera. So while the adapter does technically fit into the camera, it's utterly and completely useless because you can't close the battery compartment door with the wire sticking out of it, and the camera will not turn on with the battery compartment door open. So ... useless. And I am sure the Canon PowerShot SX500 is not the only camera that won't turn on with the battery compartment open. Before you buy an AC adapter like this try a little experiment with your camera -- open the battery compartment door, and with the battery inside, see if your camera will turn on. If it will not turn on when the battery compartment door is open (even if you have a battery installed) then this device will not work with your camera, despite their claims that it works with your particular model.

Doesn't work for me.
Does not work. I believe when I initially tested this 6 months ago this worked, however after sitting in a box it no longer provides adequate voltage to my camera. I tested the voltage coming out the dc cord and that is approximately correct however it gets lost in "battery" portion.

arrangement of adapter doesn't allow use of tripod
Okay, so if you're going to use an AC adapter, you're likely to be using a tripod. But, this adapter doesn't fit so that the battery cover can close on a Canon SX260 HS, which is immediately adjacent to the tripod attachment. If you can't close the battery cover, you can attach a tripod. This is quite disappointing. However, I suspect the Canon version of the adapter does the same thing.

Compact and Does the Job
I bought this for my new Canon S120 camera. The power supply adapter fits easily into the battery compartment, replacing the battery during use. The battery compartment door is closed and there is a small rubber plug that is opened to allow the power cord to be inserted into the adapter. Other reviewers have said there is a problem to make this connection as the tripod base is too wide. In my opinion there is ample room for most tripod bases to hold the camera and connect the power supply. However, to be sure buyers might take some measurements of the tripod base. On the bottom of the Canon S120 the distance from the mount screw center line to the outside of the connector, with connector in place, is 1 1/2 inches, allowing a tripod base of at least 2 3/4 inches square to be used. All of my tripods fit easily. I believe most will. The power supply works perfectly.

Does the job
A good product that performs. I have had the power supply connected for extended periods with no issues. A good product.

This product is not compatible with canon powershot sx600 hs.
This product is not compatible with canon powershot sx600 hs. Battery on left is original and battery on right is replacement that came with charging cord. Replacement battery has port on bottom to plug charger into it but does not work when in camera because of different battery contacts.

Great when you need infinite power
I like to take long videos while driving or camping so this is almost the perfect solution. I'd prefer to have a 12 volt adapter, but an inverter setup does the trick. For those who say the tripod is getting in the way of the plug, it doesn't matter if it's this adapter or Canon's - they're all going to fit the same way. But there are any number of ways to extend the camera up and away from your tripod. The simplest solution I can think of is just a 1/4-20 stud and coupler from your local hardware store. You can also get fancy and order something like this .
