I received an old item which should be a new one. **Q: I got this as a gift for christmas but it didn’t come with the cigarette lighter plug. Where can I buy the cigarette lighter plug?** A: Honestly, you’re better off investing in hardwiring the unit. The cigarette plug is only rated/good for roughly 120 watts and at that point, you should invest in a cheaper model that only does up to 200 watts (or so). So if you need that higher wattage, hardwire it or just use the clamps. If not, invest in a different unit. **Q: So this would be good if the power went out in my house? I just need to plug it into a car battery and can keep it inside?** A: They are very well built inverters. I have 3 400w inverters, for different solar projects, and 1 2000w, which I use to power my fridge, if the power goes out. The 2000w inverter is connect d to a 125ah vmax battery. If you leave it in your car plugged in, just make sure you have it powered off. The inverters are great. My laptop is exactly 120 watts and I find that it often beeps a lot even when the battery is fully charged. So, I added a star because it seems that it is partially my setup that's causing the beeping. However, the beeping is still annoying and unnecessary. It would be a 5 star product without the beeping. My first impression is that this is a very high quality product that is sturdy and works perfectly when my battery is fully charged. However, once my battery gets below 12.3v the low battery alarm starts chirping here and there and shortly thereafter it starts beeping full on and non stop. It's extremely annoying to be watching movies on a laptop with this irritating beeping coming and going constantly. The manual says the low battery alarm is supposed to come on between 10.8-11.2v and I sure wish that were the case with mine! The only thing I can figure is that mine is programmed incorrectly to come on between 11.8-12.2v. In any case, if you don't mind constant irritating beeping and chirping then this is a very nice inverter in all other aspects.
