Locomotive R17

I bought this train model for my adult son after reading reviews and deciding that this company offered the best quality. My son reportedly loved the challenge and was pleasantly surprised that no glue was needed. He said the instructions are all by picture. He had to redo the rubber bands after realizing it took all of them, but it was not a terrible fix and the challenge was fun for him. He actually liked the fact that the project took longer than expected. I saw the finished product and it looked really cool, just like the picture.

Another great creation. I've already lauded their products elsewhere so I won't repeat that here. If you want to indulge yourself and spend hours enjoying watching this model come to life, then buy it now! Over 600 pieces with a sheet of spare parts (in case you break one). The included booklet of instructions helped a lot. Everything is included in the box for completion of this model. (press-out tools; candle wax;sandpaper; elastic bands - including a tool to help stretch and attach the bands) Some of the parts were a little more difficult to remove but, conversely, several of them fell out when not wanted. As there are no numbers on any of the parts, make sure to pencil the part number on them if they separate prematurely. The finished model is in a few parts; 3 sets of rails, the engine and the passenger car, so the model can be displayed most anywhere according to the room available. I recommend this brand and this model.

I bought this kit for my teenage grandson back in 2020. After 5 years, it still holds together solid. It was one of the more challenging kits to assemble but he managed. I remember their being toothpick sized sticks that needed to be cut down but once we discovered It could be done with nail clippers, the job got easier. I display them on a shelf above my picture window in the kitchen. Several guests have remarked about how awesome they look. No complaints about the price. They are worth it. He got a lot of fun putting them together.

This is a well thought out, engineered 3-d product. The instruction manual--all images-no words-60+ pages in length and very easy to comprehend. Excellent tolerances with individual piece dimensions. Consequently went together with little if any issues. Be aware that this is not a toy, though promoted for sale as something to construct and then play with. Tolerances for wood pieces do not fit together to allow the train actual move. The axles are toothpicks-it is impossible to meet the tolerances between pieces and the sturdiness needed to have the gears mesh without slipping. If your goal is to create a static model of a 3-d train, this is the product for you. If you are considering a toy that is constructed that will then allow play, this is NOT the product for you.

I have completed more that a dozen of these wood model kits. This was both the best organized and best fitting kit I have tried. Everything is of a thicker material and is well marked and easy to locate. I at first questioned the use of toothpicks for assembly, but I must admit it works very well. The directions could be a little more explanatory, with some further written explanations. My experience allowed me to complete some assemblies without the detailed directions, but this kit may not be good for beginners. All in all , there is great satisfaction is the completed product.

This is beautiful, but; my husband that is a big train buff will not take it out of the box. He say's (it is too big and I am not a puzzle person). Now I have this train puzzle that I have no idea what to do with it.

Thoroughly enjoyed putting this model together. Was a fun project. Took the time to paint most pieces using either acrylic gel pens or model paint, as I would put sections together. Suggestions, follow the directions closely and file down and wax toothpicks and connected pieces thoroughly. It’ll save you a lot of hassle and potentially breaking pieces. Any moving parts, be sure to trim and file down toothpicks, for example the wheels to allow free motion.

Det var roligt att bygga den här modellen, svårt och ibland riktigt komplicerat men verkligen som jag ville ha det. Det tog tid men det var verkligen värt det. Var noga med att slipa alla kugghjul och det som ska röra sig, det lönar sig att vara noga med den här modellen.

Kam sehr gut an 👍 mein Mann war auch einige Zeit beschäftigt, beim zusammen bauen 😅
