Great little space heater!
I purchased this space heater to take the chill off a small office in my home, which it does quite well. The unit itself is 8" high, 6 3/4" wide, and 3 3/8" deep. As other reviewers have noted, the rated output is 800 and 1200 watts rather than 600 and 1200 as stated in the product title. (As a reference point, most hairdryers are rated between 1200 and 1800 watts.) The body is a very attractive one-piece brushed aluminum on top, bottom, and sides, with a black metal grill in front and plastic air intake with removable foam filter in back. The space between the bottom of the black front grill and the aluminum bottom is open, which prevents heat from being transmitted to whatever this unit is sitting on. In fact, the brushed aluminum casing remains cool to the touch even on Hi output. More importantly, the electrical cord and plug also remain cool during operation. There is a single control knob with only three positions: Low, Hi, and Off. A single speed fan blows heated air out the front grill. The fan is very quiet, measuring only slightly more than 60 dB as recorded one foot from the front of the unit. The product manual claims that the unit will shut off if it overheats, but mine has not overheated so I cannot verify this claim. The unit does not have a "tip-over" shutoff, so it should not be used where this is likely to happen. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit. It keeps my chilly office nice and warm, and it is attractive enough that I don't mind leaving it out. I highly recommend.

Best Little Heater Ever!!!
I do not understand how you could give this heater a bad review. I have used it daily for a couple weeks now. Itโs solid, great quality! We like it so much we ordered a second one. Hopefully it will last for years to come. Seems like it would. I will update my review if it does not last. The thing I like about it most is you can have it in a normal size bedroom, on low. It will not overheat the room while you are sleeping! You donโt have to wake up in the middle the night and turn it off! We keep our house very cool in the winter time. I use it in the kitchen in the mornings just to take the cold tinge out of the air. Love these heaters! When you first get the heater. It will have a smell. I just let it run in the garage, or you can let it run outside, for about an hour. Then there was no smell. Meaning new/ chemical smell. Big plus, they are BPA free! Not too much plastic. Theyโre pretty much all metal. They also have a little filter on the back you can vacuum off so it is not pulling stuff through when it blows also helps keep the heater to run better and longer life. Seems like a very common sense heater!

Decent little heater; Low setting runs at 800W...
I bought this little guy because it was the same price as similarly specced machines, and it had the lowest wattage setting of them all (600W/1200W on LOW/HI respectively). Pros: It heats my little 10x10 bedroom super fast. Because it is a lower wattage, I do have it plugged into an extension cord, and have not noticed any weird behavior. Both the heater plug and extension cord plug are cool to the touch after two hours of running the machine, which is about all I ever run it for anyway. The back, sides and bottom of the machine also say cool to the touch (at least on the low setting), which puts me at ease having is only 1ft from the wall in a corner of my little room. It is also quiet enough that I can watch TV and listen to music at pretty conservative volumes (I have roommates and like to watch TV in bed at night w/ this heater running). Cons: I was just looking at the unit and noticed the sticker on the bottom says the wattage is 800W/1200W... which is an extra 200W on the lower setting than advertised on both the box and on the site. This is a little disappointing, but not a total deal breaker. Also, the unit does not have any safety features (that I can see). It does not have tip-over protection, which leads me to believe it probably doesn't ahve overheat protection either... I can't be sure on this, but a quick skim of the brochure it came with didn't really tell me much. Over, a decent heater if you don't plan to leave it running all the time while unattended; and if the 800W low setting isn't a deal breaker. It would be nice if that spec was changed on both the box and the site.

Back for a third!
I've had two of these for about four years. I have traveled with them, moved them between houses, dragged them all around between rooms- including the bathroom while showering. Really reliable, and seem very safe: one fell over in the bathroom (on tile) and turned itself off. I don't know how long it took or whether that would prevent a flaming carpet, etc, but it's worth noting. Also, the spongy filter in the back can be vacuumed or washed easily. That's a big plus with my allergies, and probably one reason they endure mechanically. It heats the space pretty quickly depending on size (less than 5 minutes for a bathroom, maybe 20-30 for a medium bedroom) and keeps areas like my open office comfortable. The unit's case stays cool to the touch, so you can move it. Obviously, the face gets very hot. One of mine popped an exercise ball that bumped it, but it wasn't so hot that the rubber melted to it. I imagine it would have shut off if there had been sustained contact. On top of all that, it looks good- especially if you have industrial, retro, mid-century or mod decor. Definitely the most attractive I've seen. I have to buy another now because my office unit keeps being kidnapped.

Great little heater!
**Update** I've now had this heater for 4 years and still working like the day I bought it. Most other space heater's I've owned by this time start getting loud due to the fan going to crap, or the oscillating gears wearing out (This unit doesn't oscillate, but prefer that after having so many other units malfunction with that feature). I use it primarily under my desk in my office, and rarely use any setting other than low otherwise the 12x12 room will get pretty dark hot. Well built! I love this little heater. It is presently blowing nice warm air on my feet at my computer desk. I really like how it is built. It is made out of aluminum around the perimeter, the grill is a nice metal painted black, the switch is high quality and feels good to turn, the unit is extremely quiet, and most importantly it throws good heat. I actually never use the high setting because I find low is more than sufficient! If you are looking for a high quality little heater that doesn't oscillate then you really can't go wrong with this one.

Excellent
This is certainly an excellent heater for the price. The unit is very quiet, and puts out a lot of heat quickly. At the 1200 watt setting it puts out much more heat than my friend's new 1500 watt, similarly priced heater. (The unit is 800/1200 watts, not 600/1200 watts as indicated in the Amazon description.) And it's very small, so it is unobtrusive and easy to store. The unit is very basic: no thermostat, no remote. Settings are merely high, low, and off. But it does exactly what it's supposed to do, and well. Front gets hot, but it is a space heater. And of course it looks really good. Note that there is an open space below the black grill, with the bottom loop of metal serving as "feet." This wasn't obvious to me from the photo, but makes it look even cooler.

Big Ugly Safety Sticker on top. There is a giant sticker on top!
This heater has a giant ugly safety sticker on top. They purposely show a product *without* the sticker on it, since my gosh it's huge and ugly, but beware you get a big ugly sticker. It's one of they extra-sticky kinds that you cannot remove without the use of chemicals. ENJOY! UPDATE: If we give products like this a good review then companies will never stop with the practice of showing one thing and selling us another. It's annoying as heck and I don't feel like rewarding this with a good review, if even just one of the demo pics doesn't have the sticker then it's totally misleading!! All of the pictures are from some extreme angle to hide the sticker, or worse have the sticker photo-edited out! I picked this ONE because it looked the best out of like 10 options all basically the same. This is WHY I give a harsh 1/5 review to a perfectly functional device: I don't like being gamed by shady sellers trying to hide the ugly sticker that would make this impossible to sell if they showed it up front. To address other issues now that I've had it for a few weeks: The heater is mediocre at best. It's exactly like all the other ceramic space heaters, but in a more expensive brushed aluminum package. The whole point of this thing is that it's a fancy looking version of your typical space heater, except that it's badly designed in addition: The heater has 2 settings, HOT, OFF, and HOTTER. A LOW setting, or a thermostat would have made this much much nicer. The OFF setting is awkwardly positioned in the middle of the other two settings. The position of the knob is awkwardly right in the center of the flow of the heat. At least it looks stylish from some angles!

Decent little heater
This is a 800/1200 watt unit not 600/1200 if it matters to anyone. It is 8" high by 3.25" deep by about 6.75" wide. The picture and model number are now correct on Amazon. No, it does not have a remote. Someone posted that this unit has tip-protection, but it does not (I just tried it). Disconcerting, but i'll live with it. If anyone is wondering, as it was a selling point for me, the construction is mostly metal (case & grate at least, impressive in a sea of plastic heaters), and the case does not get hot despite the warning sticker on top of the unit. I am pleased with the performance, even though I'm downgrading from a Pelonis 4-ceramic-disk heater (It was my parents', I moved out, it stayed), and upgrading from a temporary [crappy] Lasko 'milk-house' style heater Wally World special. I wanted to get a Pelonis, but the company seems to barely acknowledge it's existence anymore and I didn't want to drop down 70 Washingtons for it. While the Pelonis is still superior to this unit, I think this little Crane comes pretty close, and I'll echo other reviews here for quiet operation and for heating up a 10x10 room pretty well. I suspect the only reason the Pelonis seemed to work better was due to more infrared heat put out of the unit and more air forced through the heating element (same fan size, but higher speed, your trade-off is loudness though). Keep in mind that the vast majority of 'ceramic' heaters, including this one, don't use perforated ceramic plates, the kind used in the Pelonis and good infrared saunas (I have one, the plates in the heating units are similar to the Pelonis disks). To be honest, I don't even see where the 'ceramic' part comes into play with the Crane, it just looks like a metal element. But again, it still heats well, and for less than 35 dollars, it's hard to beat when accounting for it's size.
