UPDATED REVIEW! So far it has worked beautifully. The printout is clear
5 years later and this thing is still going strong! Had to replace the ink tabs ONCE in 5 years- I use this thing DAILY and always have it set to print. Despite the battery issue, I’m giving it 5 stars. Would definitely buy again, but frankly that might not be necessary for several more years!! Purchased this calculator to replace my old one, which I had for about 25 years. The ONLY reason I had to do that is because the old one (which was a Texas Instrument) digital screen was no longer working so the numbers were disjointed and I could no longer read the display. So I scrolled through hundreds of reviews and questions to find the right one and finally settled on this one. So far it has worked beautifully. The printout is clear, the display is clear, everything works BEAUTIFULLY to it totally fit my needs. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it sucks when it is on battery power. My old calculator ran off of batteries (it had an AC adapter but I never used it). The batteries in that old calculator would last YEARS- LITERAL YEARS. And it didn't matter what brand- Energizer, Duracell, storebrand, you name it. Any standard AA batteries lasted a MINIMUM of 5 years in that old calculator. So that was the main reason I wanted this Casio was so that I did not have to have it tied to an AC cord indefinitely. Yeah...well that is not working out so well. I put batteries in it and it worked on them for about 2 weeks....I went through about 4 sets of batteries in about two months until I finally decided to leave it plugged in all of the time. But there was a time when not being able to run this off of battery power would have been cause for me to return it. So if you are planning to use this PRIMARILY on battery power- find a different calculator. If you don't mind leaving it plugged in all of the time- YES, buy it.

Perfect for work or personal use...highly recommend
UPDATED REVIEW 5 Years later: Okay, it started malfunctioning this past Summer so it lasted about 4 1/2 years...the previous calculator (exact same one) lasted 20 years...so like everything else, price has increased...quality has decreased! I purchased this exact same one again because I am so familiar with the functions & it just "fits" me. I bought my new one just last night at a big box store (can't give name here, but you know the one--the most popular big box store begins with a W) The items cost a tiny bit less than $35. So, I'd recommend looking around before ordering...at least at $35, when I throw it in the trash it won't feel so bad. It is a great calculator, you'll love using it-it's easy to use, easy to read & the printout helps a lot if you're balancing several items. It is well worth $35! I wished I'd waited, every time I look, the price has dropped...very good deal! I've used the CASIO calculator (exact one, except color) for at least 20 years with absolutely no problems. I love the large number keys and large display screen. The only reason I bought this one, is because while working a few days ago...I spilled a Pepsi into mine and even after washing, the keys still stick, so I ordered this replacement. Other reviews stated that it came with batteries...it does not. It does require 4 AA batteries and it does come with a power cord and a small amount of printer paper, very small amount...just enough to give you the idea and the paper is easy to load and replacements are easy to find. Tip: when changing paper, I always attach just a small amount of clear tape joining the new roll to the old roll and then just press the FEED button...easy! Just in case you didn't already know that...hope to help! UPDATED REVIEW 5/24/2023...I needed another good calculator, so I came to order this again and WOW! There has been a major price increase. This is no longer a good deal. The price has increased by about 75%. I recommend either another seller or another item. It's simply not worth what they are charging now.

Going to buy more...very happy.
I buy and/or not purchase items based on the reviews I read.....so I am cautious about giving a detailed review. With this purchase.....I have to say....extremely happy. Great office/desktop calculator. Easy to use....love the size (not too bulky) The word "mini" had me hesitate....because I don't like tiny calculators. But this is definitely not "mini"....just a perfect size...smaller than those bulky machines that take up half your desk....but like a regular larger calculator. Numbers and keys are large enough to work quickly......and the screen is clearly visible even under strong retail-store lighting. I was using a basic calculator we had purchased from an office retailer and one thing that I didnt like about that one was the auto shut-off. (Example: I would run 9 items and add them up.....if I stepped away for a moment.....I would come back to a blank deleted screen because most calculators have an auto shut off). The number would be gone and you have to start again..... So happy with this Casio....even after an hour.....the number you left on the screen is still there. Comfortable size keys allow you to work quickly......and the screen is very clear. Also runs on battery or electric....plug was included. Very happy.....definitely going to buy more for my stores.

Would recommend. If print function stops working, press reset button & replace the batteries
I purchased this calculator specifically for the printing function and after only 4 months of use this function stopped working. I pressed the reset button, but the printing function still did not work. I decided to remove the batteries to do a full reset of the calculator. Since I had the batteries removed, I went ahead and replaced them even though the display was working. After doing this, the printing function started working again on the calculator and it seems to be working fine now. (Also to note: I was using off brand batteries and replaced with Energizer batteries. Not sure if that was a factor in the problem.) I am a bookkeeper and I need the print function primarily for long adding calculations. Overall, the calculator size is good. It doesn't take up too much work space, and the keys are large enough for easy quick calculating. The keys are a good size and spaced apart well for three finger (plus thumb) accurate calculating . The display numbers are bold and easy to read without needing a lit display. Good overall performance.

Advanced technology. Top-notch value.
Clear, well made, capable calculator. I used my late Dad's 1960 Texas Instruments AC/DC calculator until it refused to "take" or advance the paper roll. I might add that in 1960 a simple calculator was enormously expensive- - after almost 60 years of service, I figured it was time for a new one. I read some of the reviews of this unit. and just shake my head at some of the negatives. Everything about this calculator is just fine. For myself and my needs, it fulfills every last requirement -- and yes, I have utterly no idea what 90% of the functions do. . .:)! And, I don't need to. Like most folks I use the unit to balance a checkbook, add up some tax deductions, and do a "percent" here-and-there when trying to price compare things I'm interested in buying. I bought some additional paper rolls, and some ink cartridges (the Texas Instruments calculator used the "chemical reactive" paper, which was fine, but did not print nearly as dark or clear as this unit). Everything ran me less than $40! And people complain? Buy it! It'll do what you need it to do. End of story.

Excellent Calculator!
This calculator is excellent for ordinary math tasks. You do not have to install or seat the inker--it comes installed--so please disregard the first 3 star review that was obviously based on an earlier version. It's extremely easy to set up and operate: just remove it from the box, insert the tape-roller holders, place the tape in it, push the edge of the tape through the slat in the rear of the machine, connect the plug to the machine and to an electrical outlet or use it with batteries, push the start button on the calculator, and its ready to perform numerous functions--very easily. All subtractions are printed in red ink, everything else is in black. I did not read the manual because I knew how to do all the tasks I needed to perform, having had a similar Casio machine in the past. But it shouldn't take but a few minutes to figure out how to use the functions by trying each one alone or in conjunction with some of the other functions. It's well worth the $ 20.00 I paid for a new one. It also has a 1 year warranty. You can COUNT on it.

Easy to read and use!
Took me a little bit to figure out how to use this, and I just use it for balancing my check book. However, I wish I had bought it years ago, instead of using a handheld one without a tape! Makes my life ten times easier! Well it takes at least half the time now to balance the check book, fewer errors and I can look at the strip to see if I made mistakes. Know, just like everyone I have ever, ever had in 66 years, getting that full size roll started, takes PERSISTENCE! Period. You just keep trying to put it in again and again and eventually it works. They all take Patience to get the roll started! Does many things I will never use. Love the many settings, the big letters are easy to read. Very nice product!

Not a fan
This works okay, but there are two things that I really don't like about this calculator. The first thing is that the CA button is not the red button at the bottom. The red button at the bottom only seems to clear the entry (CE). The button to clear everything is three buttons up from that at the top. Not super convenient and until I get used to it I'm going to be wasting a lot of time recalculating when my previous entry doesn't get cleared. Every other calculator in the office (we have three other brands) has the CA button at the bottom (or near the bottom)...and it is RED. The second thing I don't like about this calculator is it doesn't have a power saver or auto shut off feature. All of our other desk calculators do. You can switch them on and leave them on and then when you're ready to use them again you push any button and they are ready. This one is just always on unless you physically switch it off. Kind of an necessary waste of power and a little on the inconvenient side.
