que tan buena es? dicen que la otra la normal es un poco fuerte pero bueno, es mi primera vez tratando de tomar mate, pero no quiero algo tan fuerte.

si vas a empezar entonces si te recomiendo esta porque es mas suave que la de paquete amarillo. incluso puedes agregarle a tu mate algunas hierbas de tu agrado como manzanilla, hierbabuena, etc, etc ...

This blend is very fine and my bombilla is useless in keeping out the ground leaves. Any solution suggestions?

There’s two potential fixes to this.

1: ensure that you are correctly setting everything up. when you shake, do it long enough so that more of the small dust particles come to the top of the gourd. Then make sure you allow enough time between your first saturation that way you can pack the dust in more. and when you put your bombilla in, be sure that you push and pack the side well enough. Lastly, When you put the bombilla in, make sure you give a little lift to the mate that way most of the filtration will come from beneath. 
If that doesn’t work try this one.  
2: if you’re using a VERY fine mate, simply turn your bombilla sideways after the insertion and lift, that way half will be buried in the mate, the other half should be sticking out.

friend from Uruguay introduced me to mate and its very smooth and not much bitterness would this be similar? And does it have a lot of stems and dust?

Canarias Serena is blended with other herbs.   It is smother and milder than the traditional Canarias.    It has no stems but there is some yerba mate powder (not dust) that is formulated into the blend.
