Great Brand, Great Price, Great Binoculars
We have had a pair of Bushnell binoculars, very similar to this pair, for over 30 years and they are still amazing and offer everything we need to watch the birds and wildlife in our area. We recently purchased a second home in a different state so the bird species and wildlife in the area are different and worth exploring. There is nothing worse than wanting to investigate wildlife and not having the tools to do so. After 9 months of this, I ordered these binoculars for my husband as a Christmas gift and he was thrilled. I went with Bushnell because of the brand name, and never even considered going with anything else. The Bushnell Falcon's are exactly like our tried and true old pair, offering the same excellent focus features and magnification. We have become very used to utilizing the "insta-focus" system, which also allows you to fit the eyes pieces of the binoculars to your individual eye width. We like the size and weight of this pair since they are easy to hold comfortably in even my smaller hands, and they are easy to find if they are ever misplaced or not hanging from their designated rack (smaller binoculars just don't work for our lifestyle). The strap is fully adjustable, very comfortable, and made of cloth, unlike our older pair that has a plastic strap. The case is, meh, just ok. I did not get these for the case and we won't be using it except if we take the binoculars on our travels so I'll hang onto it to offer a little protection to the binoculars if they end up traveling in a suitcase. Overall, this is a great pair of binoculars. It's nice to know you still can't go wrong with Bushnell products.

Good value for the price, but chintzy accessories
To their credit, Bushnell is one of the first names I think of when I think of binoculars. I've owned a few pairs and never really been disappointed. The equipment itself is pretty good quality, and works well. These are no exception. They seem solidly built. I'm no expert in optics, but they do the job. For my purposes--aircraft, ship, and wildlife spotting, they'll do nicely. I am a bit disappointed in the accessories. The lens caps fall off very easily and have no retaining mechanism such as a strap to prevent them from being lost. The neck strap is also on the cheap side. It's narrow and of a flimsy web material, so I don't expect it will hold up long. Same for the case--cheap, thin material that will wear out soon and offers only the minimum of protection. I'll be upgrading these parts where I can. All this said, for under $40, you could do a lot worse.

Great View at a Great Price
For the low price I was expecting low budget binoculars, but was pleasantly surprised at the clarity and separate eye focus ease. I have other lower powered binoculars that do not provide this level of clarity. The others are handy for their compactness. This 10x50 is not a compact unit, however they provide a wider view letting in lots of light. It would have been nicer if they came with an impact resistant carrying case, instead of the soft case. That probably could have been added for only a couple bucks more. Still, for the price, clarity and quality I am happy with my purchase.

Good Beginning Set
I had and old set of Binoculars that I was having problems focusing with (getting both eyes dialed in). It just wore out over time (spent more time focusing than viewing). I don't use Binoculars all that much but wanted to have a decent one for whenever I needed it. Didn't want to spend an awful lot of money being I wouldn't use them very much. Decided on these. Took it outside, looked around and was very pleased. This one, rather than having a focusing wheel like my other one, had a lever that you moved from one side to the other to focus. It was easy, felt good, I liked it. Did my adjustments easy to get both my eyes in sync with each other (since my vision in both eyes is different). I like these binoculars, they are better than my previous set that I had for years. This one comes with a soft case as opposed to a hard case my other one had. So this one I'm going to have to be a little more careful how I handle them and where I store them. Probably for the rugged dude who needs to manhandle stuff more, these probably wouldn't hold up. For the more casual guy though, these are going to be just fine. Has a strap on the soft case and another included strap for the binoculars themselves. Optics are good, my eyes are not complaining. 5 stars for the quality vs the price.

good quality for good price
I bought the Celestron 15-30 zoom field glasses (~$125) to complement a wide field of view binocular which has since disappeared. The evaluations of the Celestron were correct that it was great for distance viewing but the very heavy which got old quickly. I got these to complement those and could not believe the price for the quality. Key features are the wide field of view and fast / easy focusing. It has the quality I expected for something with a brand name like Bushnell, but it clearly doesn't have the performance of a ~$2-300 marine binocular or a high end birding binocular. And I still haven't decided if the focus point of the 2 imaging systems remains constant with distance meaning you have to do a diopter correction at each distance, or if I am demanding too much out of an intermediate grade binocular, or if my eyes are just screwed up. But $40 is a pretty low price for this much high tech. And I read someone complain about the case. The case that came with this (versus the one I bought years ago) is an order of magnitude better. Not the highest quality but pretty good for a case included effectively for free.

Great value, really decent image
I bought these at the same time I bought Bushnell Engage 10x42 binocs. I was curious to see the difference in image quality, and these were so inexpensive I couldn't resist. The picture is remarkably clear and focusing is easy. You have to pay attention to see the difference in the image quality. Where the difference between them really stands out is when looking through them for a while (more than a minute or so.) While it's hard for me to pinpoint the specific difference (I seem to be able to discern the same details), my eyes are far more relaxed with less strain through the Engages than through these Falcons. But that's comparing $30 glasses to $170 glasses! Yes, you get more if you pay more. But you really have to pay attention to see the difference. Of course, these are bigger and bulkier than the Engages; don't fit into as nice a small package, not as nice a strap or other features that I like (like the ability to use the Engages with or without my glasses at the twist of the eyepieces to change the "relief".) Also, the Engages will work quite a bit better in rain or mist, with their hydrophobic coating (a bit like Rainex, causing the water to bead up into smaller drops.) The weight isn't too different between the two. For the typical casual viewer, these Falcon binocs will be really great, especially considering the price.

Decent inexpensive binoculars.
First of all, these have a good bit of weight to them. Expect to need the use of both hands for steady or extended viewing. This weight tells in the build - they have a reassuring, solid feel and the optics are bright and clear. Image is good, though not as sharp as I'd hoped based on the hype some reviewers gave these and parallel vertical lines are noticeably convex in appearance on the pair I purchased. I think that the focus paddle could benefit from a bit of added width - my fingers are relatively short and I need to release one hand from the barrels to fully articulate it near the end of its range of motion. The eye cups are light-weight rubber-like material and fold down easily, but I wouldn't expect them to last very long if used frequently. Whatever problem noted in other reviews with lens caps being loose seems to have been addressed - the caps accompanying mine are snug and secure. Still, there are four individual caps to deal with once they're off the lenses... The nylon canvas case provided appears to be more of a gesture of goodwill than anything else as it offers little in the way of protection other than from dust and perhaps moisture. The straps (both for the case and the binoculars) are adequate to their intended function. On sale, these cost me less than $36.00. At that price I can't not recommended them.
