JP16 "Extend-o-post" Adjustable Floor Jackpost - 12" to 16"

I purchased 3 of these to aid in a releveling project on an old house. Since they are going to be in place for several months making slow adjustments, I didn't want to use my regular ones. As others have mentioned in their reviews of similar products, these posts come in several pieces and must be placed on very level pads or they will slip off. The threads are not acme type and must be well lubricated with grease before any heavy loading or the threads will spall or freeze up. The turning bar supplied is also very anemic and is likely to bend if trying to make adjustments under heavy loads. Still, for a low cost, light duty adjustable post they aren't bad. Just be aware of their limitations and don't expect them to perform as well as units like the JET models.

I bought one of these and one of the Tiger Brand. The quality of this jack post does not compare with the Tiger brand. It arrived RUSTY in the box. If it rusts in the box, I'm sure it will really rust in my crawlspace. I won't be using this in my home. The Tiger brand one met all my expectations, and I would buy that one instead. This marshall post has thinner metal, and is extended with a small metal bar, rather than a wrench --- which makes it difficult to put some serious force into it. Also, I'm sure I'll loose the small metal bar eventually, whereas I will always own a wrench.

Typical adjustable column. Lots of wieght capacity in a small package. Standard tube thickness etc. Fast Service made me a repeat customer!

The product is cheap in price and definitely cheap in quality. You receive a poor quality steel tube, a low quality cap/adjustment screw and a plate the tube sets on. Nothing is welded together and difficult to use as it falls apart trying to install it. Pay a little more for something better.
