### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice unit for the cost and size

I bought this to bring up the bottom end in a Kenwood system, with Rockford Fosgate speakers I installed into an old Ranger. The truck is an extended cab, but I needed to be able to use the jump seats for times when I need to haul the kids and the wife. With a Kenwood amp under one of the jump seats, I didn't have much room left in the back for a sub. This unit fit against the back wall of the cab and still leaves enough room for two kids to sit in the back.After I got the phase set to match to RF drivers, it actually produced a pretty nice bottom-end. I can't say I've ever been very impressed with Pyle, but this seems to be a pretty well built unit, and really sounds nice.If you are one of those people who want use your stereo to announce your presence 5 minutes before you get there, then you will be unimpressed. If you like listening to music on a quality sound system, it's a good option if you are tight on space.I mean the thing only cost me $120, and it includes an amp. It took me a couple minutes to realize that it was out of phase with my RF drivers, because my expectations were pretty low. Don't get me wrong, it's not going to keep up with a properly sized enclosure, a good 10" driver, and a properly sized amp, but I didn't have the space or the $400+ to do it correctly. I don't think you will find anything that sounds better unless your budget is at least $300.The only complaint I would have is all the rheostats for adjusting levels (four including the external volume, which is kinda cheesy). Any stereo you buy these days is going to have a sub-out channel, with digital controls for setting levels. The only thing a sub really needs is maybe a couple frequency cut-out switches. With rheostats, the sound quality is going to degrade over time, unless you "exercise" them occasionally.Overall pretty happy with it though.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect fit and excellent sound

I ordered this subwoofer to add low-end sound to my 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander (without the Rockford Fosgate sound system). I intended have it installed under the passenger seat, and a test-fit proved it would be close. I took it to Auto Options in Columbus Ohio for installation. They deserve a shout-out for getting me in and completing the installation the next day, one day prior to a scheduled road trip. I was pleased to learn that the built-in high level inputs on the subwoofer would save me a couple of bucks and eliminate another "failure point" in an external adapter.I picked up the car after Auto Options was all but closed so didn't get to speak to the installer. I sat in the car and flipped the keys on and was greeted with FM radio that was loud and... well, I rarely listen to FM radio so I wasn't sure if it was markedly better or not. I flipped over to the MP3 player and was underwhelmed... while I could "feel" a little thump to accompany the music, it didn't do much for the sound. I didn't think I should be "feeling" it in my backside, though... a quick check proved in was installed under the driver-side seat. Not sure why that happened, but it has had no negative impact... and probably saved me complaints from my wife if it were under her seat, so the installer was probably thinking more clearly than I.The under-seat installation made the unit "invisible" but also difficult to reach. This subwoofer includes a remote volume control that was attached to my dash. I could effectively turn the subwoofer off using this control which let me clearly hear what new bass was introduced by the subwoofer. I was fairly disappointed at this point, and went with this for a couple of weeks.There are three screw-driver operated controls on the side panel of the speaker; input gain, bass boost and low-pass filter. By far, the best time to make these adjustment would be before the installation was complete. At it is, I use a 1 inch long screwdriver bit to (blindly) make any adjustments. On a warmer winter day I decided to tweak the low-pass filter and, after some give and take, the difference was significant. I haven't tried to make adjustments to the Input Gain and Bass Boost yet. It would have been *really nice* if the remote control let you adjust the volume, boost and low pass filter... but in reality, the boost and LPF should be set once and left alone, so their choice makes sense.I am now enjoying rich, full bass from my car stereo. I was not expecting (or wanting) a serious thump-thump-thump for the subwoofer, although there is a notable punch with stronger baselines. When I get bored and feeling more flexible I will try the Bass Boost... but this product has already delivered everything I was expecting. Highly recommended if you are looking to enhance the low-end of your car's audio system without blowing out any windows.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Under the seat to feel the bass and beat--Rock on!

The Pyle 8" amplified Subwoofer fits nicely under the seat of my Subaru. It boosts the bass frequencies to hear the actual bass guitar and bass drum of an acoustic drum set. It fits my needs, but if you're looking to vibrate your car to the point of sending sound waves to the next traffic lane, it falls a bit short. Luckily, I don't listen to rap or hip-hop (not exactly a big loss). However, I do like my songs to rock out and adjusting the amount of bass boost with that conveniently included pot switch (mounted just under the trim near the steering wheel) is a major bonus. I suggest figuring out how much boost in volume you actually want before you make a purchase. However, the price for this unit is a serious bargain, and I'd recommend it to someone who actively listens to bass presence instead of bass bashing. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars because the RMS wattage rating is misleading. You don't really get 600 watts of power. Make sure you talk to someone about actual sonic output before you purchase any audio product.
