Great hobby scope!
I purchased this for my hobbies in geology and archaeology and it has been outstanding - with a couple of caveats. This microscope has no stage, and many of my specimens are too small to see without raising them to the lens, so I had to solve for a workable stage that I could set rocks and other hard sharp objects on. I ended up using a small laboratory jack (Sold on Amazon as well) for the stage allowing me to put a specimen on it and raise it to the approximate required level, and then using the microscope for the final adjustments. This has worked out perfectly. I read about the horizontal rails on a similar model becoming pitted due to being undersized for the bearings rolling against them. With this in mind, I always carefully apply upward force to the heavy end before rolling it and have seen no pitting. No sense taking any chances - I want this microscope to last. The lens are perfect for my hobbies, and the ability to zoom is especially useful. The light source is really useful as well - it is bright and you can adjust the direction of the light by turning off some of the LEDs. The unit is incredibly big and heavy - I didn't realize just how big and heavy until I assembled it and then decided to move it. It was too long to fit in the appointed spot in my lab, but luckily because it will turn every which way, I ended up sitting it up sideways instead of longways and it works fine. You will have no problem with the unit accidentally moving (unless of course the table its on collapses!) as it is very heavy. I purchased this unit with the idea of someday attaching a camera, but have not done so as yet so I can't speak to that function. Movements are all smooth and have a professional feel to them. Overall this has been a wonderful purchase with one small hitch... You must assemble the unit from several parts - and the manual that came with my unit did not apply to the microscope I purchased. Weird. Most of the assembly was straight forward and being a man (I hate to ask for help) I finally figured out the few odd attachments you must make. Overall it was a fun puzzle to solve, but most people would likely prefer to either receive the correct assembly instructions or look them up online. It took about 30 minutes to assemble (and most of that was scratching my head over 1 part).

Amazing!
Insane value!!!! Love the 4 way LED light (Super super useful feature). I would not buy without that. Optics perfect. Razer sharp and clean. No diffraction of light. Only issue is when you zoom, you have to refocus and also tweak one of the 2 eye diaopters. I think this has to due with CCD/Cmos access port. Small inconvenience considering how this is built. After a few tries I don't think about it. You can move all the controls without looking. Another huge plus is that you can position the scope in any conceivable direction. The base is also soooo heavy!!!!!! Rock stable even pulled out all the way.

If you’re looking for a microscope for watches, look no further This is the full bundle!
I could not be happier with this scope. It’s a luxury compared to using a loupe to do watch services. I actually enjoy using it. It’s well made and packaged and DID come with a QR code for all the instructions you need. This is a US based company and the instructions are well laid out in PERFECT English. I can completely work under it and haven’t had any problems so far. For the money, I would happily take the Pepsi challenge against more expensive microscopes, confident it would win. You cannot go wrong purchasing this. It obvious Amscope know what’s it’s doing and I wouldn’t hesitate purchasing other products from them. Yeah, it’s that good.

Incredible scope for the price
This scope is a true bargain. The optics are as crisp and as sharp as any name brand professional scope that I have used. The boom stand is not all it could be since the moving parts do not lock down without torquing the compression levers and knobs with all of my strength but it is still quite functional. I am using a full frame Nikon 810 camera on the C mount camera tube and it works quite well (the Nikon camera mount is not included and can be purchased separately from AmScope). The camera can not be locked into the mount with a set screw, and can turn if touch but I have not found that to be problematic. One annoying feature of the optics when using the 2x lens to acquire the 45 to 90 x magnification range is that the field is quite curved but this aberration can be removed in Photoshop. Regardless of these minor limitations, I definitely will not be sending this scope to back to Amazon!

Excellent scope. Very good stand. Not so good light set.
For the price, this unit is really good. I like all of it. I have bought other optic lenses which make the unit even more awesome. The image is clear, adjustments are easy. I've worked with other brands of stereoscopes at work and this one is pretty good. One complaint I have is that it was missing an adjustment knob. But I contacted the seller and they sent me the part right away. Way to go! I gave it 4 stars because it is a bundle. And with the scope so the light comes. And although the LED ring is bright, and somewhat good, it feels cheap. The controller specially. Not only it feels cheap, it broke after about 10 uses. It took me a while to get in touch with the seller about this (the same day I made this review) so I am waiting to see if it is still under warranty or if they can replace it or something. If not I will try to fix it my self. But again, it seems to be pretty cheap. Update (12/19/17): The vendor never contacted me again... well, I will build a LED controller for my LED ring...

Opens up a different world!
I have used several different stereoscopes from different makers over the last 30 years to do repair and modification work on micro electronics. Most of the brands have been significantly more expensive than this was. I must say, I find the optics and durability of this scope to be on par with instruments costing multiples more than these. Although it would be nice for those unfamiliar with these to have received assembly instructions, being experienced with these instruments, I had little trouble. Aside from that, I am extremely pleased with the quality of this instrument for the price.

This is the one you need for electronics assembly
This is the correct microscope for electronics assembly. Unlike mono electronic microscopes, a stereo microscope gives depth of field making assembly much easier. The 0.5 Barlow lens is the perfect compromise between view area and close zoom. You can zoom out to see an entire 100 TQFP package or zoom in to inspect solder joints. The light is excellent, the view is bright, clear, and stable. Please get a taller column so you could place a hot plate under the microscope but that's about all I would change. Note that you must refocus when zooming and using the camera port blocks vision to the left eye, but that's all you are giving up for significant savings.

Quite decent
I didn't realize how nice a microscope you could get for so little money. This unit does not feel flimsy. The base is HEAVY, and very hard to tip. There are lots of adjustments. You can move the head in any direction, including pointing it sideways. It's reasonably easy to slide around. Optically, it seems to be great. I haven't used a $5k top brand microscope, so I can't be sure that they aren't better. But this one is extremely useful. The only optical quality complaints I've got are that you need to keep your head in just the right position. Move your head much and you can't see anything. Also, when you're zooming in the depth of field is extremely shallow. Only the top of a surface mount resistor is in focus! The bottom of it is blurry. (I know that this is a very common characteristic of optical assemblies; maybe the more expensive ones are just like this too...) The "3.5x to 90x zoom" is perhaps a bit misleading. The zoom control goes from 0.7 to 4.5, and the eyepieces are 10x. That means that you get 7x to 45x. In addition, there are front add-on lenses in the box, 0.5x and 2x. With the 0.5x you get 3.5x to 22.5x, and with the 2x you get 14x to 90x. You can't actually get 3.5x to 90x without unscrewing one of those lenses, and removing the LED light assembly and re-attaching it. I haven't used the trinocular port with a camera yet. You need some sort of adaptor with optics for that to work. Also, there is a slider to switch between the trinocular port and the left eyepiece. You lose the left eye when you use the camera. The LED control box works. It's not top quality, the text is low quality silk screen, but the buttons feel solid and have a good click when you press them. Overall, I'm happy with this microscope. I can't compare it to any other because I really haven't used any others. But my soldering is now much better than it used to be. I can examine each solder joint carefully and see what it looks like.

Great Product!
To start, I think the instructions really suck but, it's not rocket science so I was able to figure everything out. Shipping (Intelcom Express) was terrible, like usual, and the box came smashed up. I was really concerned but luckily the microscope was packed very well. The boom is solid and is a great complement to the microscope. The LED light ring is an absolute must have. The microscope itself is well constructed and is very impressive. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this.

Top Mikroskop.
