However, I find the roundoff threshold can bring imprecision. A weight known to be 10.4 oz can read out as an eleven or ten, if approaching that 10.4 from below or from above. I would not use it for any propose that being off by an ounce or two creates a problem. **Q: How would this item react to a large box, around 30kg/65pds but the box dimensions are a few inches wider than this scale’s platform? Still accurate?** A: I’ve had boxes bigger than the scale and it still weighed the same when I’ve had them weighed at the UPS store. It’s accurate. **Q: Does this scale have a serial port?** A: no **Q: I am looking for a scale to weigh puppies, and need it to be right on their weight....would this scale work for that?** A: I think it would do the job provided they aren't Great Dane puppies that wouldn't fit on the scale. The only other problem might be to get them to stop wiggling long enough for the readout to settle down. Since the readout is separate you won't have to worry about a puppy standing or lying on top of it so you can't read it.
