very small but surprisingly effective; but: buyer beware of non-authorized resellers
I got it today for use with Microsoft Teams in a small conference room at work. This thing is tiny, much smaller than I expected: it fits into the palm of my hand. It has a bluetooth connection capability (but it does not come with a special dongle, like my Jabra headset), and also USB connectivity (via the permanently connected to the unit USB cable). I plugged it into Dell docking station, and now we can connect our laptops to the speaker by just plugging in the USB-C cable from the docking station. This cable via docking station provides power to the laptop, feeds video to the TV via HDMI cable, and feeds audio to the Jabra Speak via USB. The sound is surprisingly good - the quality is great, and it is loud enough for the team. While it is nominally rated for 4 people, I found that mike is good enough to pick up sound from people around a larger table, which can sit up to 8 people. Connection to MS Teams as audio established automatically, one did not even need to switch the audio to Jabra Meet in the list. Sound quality on the other end was also better than expected. The only annoying thing is that every time you turn the unit on, it gives recorded instructions to connect to bluetooth - which is totally unnecessary as we do not play to use the bluetooth functionality, and this announcement is very annoying as it is repeated over and over again. I guess, the only way to deal with it is to keep it plugged into the docking station and never turn it off. Overall, a really nice gadget. Please be aware that when you buy on Amazon, the gadget can be sold by Amazon.com or any other business or individual doing merchant business through Amazon. At the time of this writing, there are 3 businesses who are not authorized dealers offering the same unit along with Amazon.com as a seller! You as a customer may pick from whom you want to buy. Jabra is very specific on their web site that warranty support will only be provided to original owners of units bought from authorized resellers. Amazon.com is one of them, but many third party vendors (with names you never heard) who are selling through Amazon are not. Jabra even maintains a list of non-authorized vendors, and they say they sell either grey market products or refurbished units, as they cannot get what they sell directly from Jabra! An option to buy a unit sold directly by Amazon can cost a few dollars more, but it is the only one that comes with warranty!

Outstanding Conference Call Speaker for Macs Using Skype
This is an absolutely fantastic speakerphone option for Skype use on a Mac. I use Skype heavily in the conduct of my business, and I've always struggled with handling conference calls using my Thunderbolt Display's mic and speakers (they are okay, but not great for long conference calls, or where you need to pick up multiple people in a larger room). This thing absolutely rocks on my Skype calls now. The sound quality of the omnidirectional mic is outstanding and very sensitive -- so sensitive that it picks up whispering from about 3' away -- but because of the placement of the mic on the unit, it is also prone to audio reflection off of the desk surface, resulting in a slightly "hollow room" sound. It's not bad as the sound of voice articulation is crystal clear but it does sound like you are in a smaller room with reflective walls (contrast this with a much higher-end Polycom, where you get very little reflection plus some echo cancellation resulting in a very clear voice with little "hollowness"). The speaker quality -- for output in the vocal range of 100 Hz to about 7,000 Hz is superb with no complaints. The speaker is crystal clear and actually presents a sound stage much larger than you would expect from such a small speaker. The product is solidly built using quality materials, and is very well integrated. I really appreciate the ability to wind up the USB cord around the base of the unit, and the capacitive discharge control buttons on top (along with the LED indicators) is absolutely superb. Also, installation on a Mac (running Yosemite 10.10.3) was brain-dead simple. Just plug it in via USB, point Skype to the Jabra unit that shows up as an audio I/O, and you are done. No drivers, no hassle, it just works. For the record, I have no need for the Bluetooth capability of the speaker, so I have not tried that particular angle. I am absolutely thrilled with this product and how it works that I'll be looking into some other Jabra products to see if they perform as well as this speaker does. Major five thumbs up!

Overall great speakerphone, works seamlessly with cell hone bluetooth pairing and PC calls
I recently setup a home office where I planned to use my cell phone as my primary means of communication. Rather than use the built-in speakerphone or ear buds with mic (did that for a few weeks, not fun), I wanted a quality bluetooth speakerphone. I can honestly say I have found it in the Jabra SPEAK 510. I spent a great deal of time reading reviews and looking at many options before I decided to pull the trigger with this product. The setup was an absolute breeze... the verbal feedback "Paired to mobile device" has become my morning greeting when I enter my office. The audio volume and clarity are great. Very easy to adjust the speaker volume from the elegant touch buttons on the top of the device. The audio quality on the other end is good as well. The feedback I have received (when I asked about the quality) was there was a little reverb in the call, but coming through very clear. Another feature which I didn't expect to like, but I really enjoy is the ability to use this speakerphone through my PC as well. For Skype or Google Hangout calls this is incredibly useful. It localizes all audio interaction I have (cell phone or PC) to one location... it's the small things in life, right? The device is charged via USB, but can operate off its internal battery as well. I now take this on business trips where I know I will be taking conference calls in hotel rooms, etc. This has worked out quite well the few times I have done it. Overall I would highly recommend this purchase for the application I described or others... I have already recommended it to other co-workers working remotely!

A nice speakerphone for your desk
I love this thing. Pros: - Acts as a standard USB audio device, making it plug-and-play compatible with any OS, and even your smartphone with an adapter. - Bluetooth pairing works very well, and can be toggled at the touch of a button. - Audio quality isn't as good as my wired PC headset (I wouldn't expect that from a speakerphone), but it's way better than my phone's earpiece/mic or speakerphone functions. People say it sounds very good. (I typically sit about 3 feet from the speaker at my computer desk, but have used it over slightly longer distances with good effect.) - Touch controls on the device are very good (not perfect, but that's because I'm someone who prefers physical buttons). - Turning the device off disconnects the USB audio device from your PC, meaning that you can leave it plugged in all the time, and when you turn it on, your computer's audio will switch to it automatically (tested in Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04). - Cord wraps up on the device. This makes it reasonably portable, easily stowed in a backpack or whatever you're traveling with. Cons: - Bluetooth audio quality isn't as good as USB audio quality, but this is really the fault of the Bluetooth hands-free profile that is used. I would love to see these devices support a newer profile so that audio quality were higher. But, if it's that important to you, just plug the USB in. - Touch controls for answering/ending calls do not present to the computer as a standard USB keyboard. This means you need the Jabra software to get those buttons to work with a softphone. Also, the Jabra software does not have any integration with Google Hangouts (which I use for most of my calls). This means the audio will work, but to answer/end calls you still have to click a button on the computer screen. Over Bluetooth, these buttons operate as expected. - The device would benefit from an array microphone setup (think Amazon Alexa devices) which would make it work better at longer distances. Still, it's probably good enough for a small conference table.

The best mic of the lot.
As one of a shrinking number of people who still uses the phone for voice calls a lot, all day in fact, there are many situations where the iPhone's mic and speakerphone just don't cut it. Small group meetings, or when I'm jumping around calls a lot in a hotel room, or trying to use facetime and being able to see and hear while the phone is at a distance are examples of when a speakerphone is ideal. The Jabra SPEAK 510 handles these situations perfectly. I own two other battery driven, portable, blutooth audio conferencing units, and of the three, the Jabra Speak is by far the best. The other two units have 2 mics and 4 mics respectively, to help with audio management, and yet they pale in comparison (for the mic) compared to the Jabra Speak 510. No unit of this size can be perfect, but the major challenge of all these units in terms of comfortable usability is not the speaker. The speakers are fine on every unit I test. The major problem is always the mic. I don't know what magic Jabra pulled on the mic, but it is the most usable and closest to an enterprise class deskphone's mic of any portable battery driven blutooth audio conferencing unit I've ever tried. The touch screen controls are fairly nifty, but again, as far as I'm concerned it's a gimmick and is no better or worse than push button models. The integrated USB cable is very handy though, and much appreciated. Nothing worse than having yet another separate cable to manage. and cable management itself is easy as well. One nice feature is that the unit can be plugged in to a laptop for power while still using the bluetooth mode. Not all audio conferencing units have that ability. All in all, if you're looking for this type of unit, the Jabra Speak 510 is, in my humble opinion, the best of the lot. It goes with me everywhere.

Jabra 510 is the Office Road Warrior's Best Pal!
I was told a year or so ago that this Jabra was a good device... I had spent several weeks working remotely in Europe and after spending hours on the phone with ear buds... then with over-the-ear headphones that had an integrated microphone... and feeling like my ears were full of hot sweat and realizing that no matter how comfortable something feels at first... after hours even a soft pillow can start to hurt, I felt like there had to be something better. I quickly forgot about the Jabra devices until I was again at a meeting in a hotel without a speakerphone. We had to dial someone in and the connection was terrible. People had to lean over the phone and shout directly at the thing just to make themselves heard. Anyway... flash forward a few months and I happen to be a in room with our IT group. One of the guys was zipping this thing up into the little case and it reminded me that I should check it out. I decided to go ahead and order one. All I can say is WOW!! This thing connects to my iPhone 6s Plus with no problems whatsoever. I have also used it at work to connect directly with the USB cable for use with computer audio. One thing I have found is that the computer audio itself is usually the weak link. I have used some services in the past (Lync) and had little problems... others (GoTo something...) have had bigger problems. This has had nothing to do with the speaker. I am once again in Europe and have used this thing for approximately 40 hours of teleconferences back to the states. The call quality is pure and crisp and plenty loud for me working at my little home-away-from-home desk. The battery life is tremendous. I have only plugged it into charge a couple of time and neither time was the thing even half-way drained. I know that the answer/hang-up buttons only work with real phone calls. I have been using Skype to dial real numbers. I don't think it is a limitation of the device so much as a limitation of Skype and bluetooth perhaps. I don't even find it to be a nuisance because the ability to have a clear and crisp conference call with a speakerphone like this is really just fantastic. It is now going with me on every single work trip. I even bought one for my spouse. I can honestly say that if you are going to be working remotely (out of the country)... then your go-bag should have this device... a phone with international data for Skype (T-mobile has a great plan these days... unlimited data in 140 countries included with a regular plan)... and perhaps a Skype calling plan (unlimited calls back to the US for 3 months). If you toss in a small keyboard and perhaps a USB-powered monitor... you basically can have an office anywhere in the world that is fully functional and doesn't give you head or ear aches. This thing is a winner for me... it has been exhaustively tested...I don't write a lot of Amazon reviews, but this thing is really that good and worth my time writing up. Only real downside? The case that comes with it is a tiny bit snug. It works just fine... I had to search to find a gripe. Now I need to prep for 7 hours of calls coming up in 30 minutes!

Is it weird how much this thing has made my life better, and how much I love it
I had another USB speakerphone that this replaced. That one wasn't bluetooth enabled, and that turned out to be a significant game changer for me. I'm a remote worker, and I spend a lot of time on the phone. The things that I love about this speaker is that it works with my PC (via USB) and my phone (via BT) simultaneously. It also functions as a basic mono speaker (I have no other speakers connected to my PC). The best thing about it is the smart button, which I've programmed to bring up Siri. Before, when I needed to make a call... pickup phone, unlock, open contacts, find contact (or punch in phone number). Now, tap smart button, tell Siri what I want. Yes, I can call up Siri on my phone directly, but it's just not as simple or easy as tapping that button. Clarity on both ends is great. I've asked a few people on the other end, and nobody can tell I'm on a speaker. There's plenty of volume if you need to fill a medium sized room, and overall sound quality is very good. The speaker claims to work with many conferencing apps, and it does work, but I wouldn't say it's integrated. For example, if I tap the mute button, the speaker mutes, but the conferencing app doesn't. Not really a problem since I'm still muted, but there's always that moment of, "am I muted?" if I look at the app. I just have to remember to look at the speaker which clearly shows you're muted by lighting up all the red LEDs around the perimeter of the device. Speaking of the lights, they're all very well thought out. Lights to let you know it's on, that BT is on. Lights that come up in sequence to show the volume setting, and whether you're on an active call, and lights to indicate the battery level. They're all uniquely different and easy to intuitively understand. I also like that it's easy to turn BT on/off with a tap of the BT button. Connection establishment happens fast, to the point that I can turn it on and answer a call after the phone has started ringing (if I'd forgotten to turn it on previously). I haven't tested battery life since it stays plugged in at my desk. Though, even if it only got half of the 15-hour claimed talk time, that would be more than enough to get me through a typical days calls. The only thing I'd change about the device is the placement of the mute/power buttons. The four buttons I use the most are answer/end/mute and the smart button. I would've swapped the positions of the mute/power buttons so that mute was between answer/end. Then all four common use buttons would be right next to each other. As it is, the mute button is "far away" relative to the other buttons. Of course, this is a very minor nitpick, and doesn't change my overall opinion of it, but there you go.

A good multi-tasker for office and travel
I use this at the office for Microsoft Lync meetings. Just plug into a USB port on the laptop and you'll have good sound and mic pickup for online meetings. It's 100 times better than using the laptop's speakers and mic. The reason I purchased this model over the less expensive non-bluetooth version was for use with my iPhone while on the road. It syncs up well with the phone and provides the same improvement in sound quality when using it as a speakerphone for the iPhone. This is especially useful for meetings that pop up during trips or while working with a group offsite. In fact, I've used this with my phone in small conference rooms that were not equipped with a speakerphone and everyone was impressed with the quality. The case and cord storage are great - it's in my bag everyday so wherever I am it can be put in play if needed. I've also used it in vehicles that didn't have hands free systems to allow everyone to participate in the call. Sure - it is quite a bit more than the non-bluetooth version, but if you have any use at all for a speakerphone while on the go, I'd pony up the extra money and get this model. I should note, it is not very loud for music - I was kinda hoping it could serve as a bluetooth speaker for music while traveling, but it just doesn't have enough umph. Before purchasing I thought that might be the case - I was just hoping I would be pleasantly surprised. It's no Jawbone or JBL, but it does well as a speakerphone and the USB connection allows it to interface with Lync seamlessly. I think the USB connection is key and what makes this a unique product. I needed to purchase something that would wok at the office and on the road and the Speak 510 has been doing a great job.
