Turntable Cartridge Headshell Wires

I needed a replacement wire for the headshell on my Pioneer PL-514 turntable. These wires fit my Ortofon cartridge perfectly, but the pins on my headshell are just a bit too small for the wire ends. I have a crimper that easily fixed the problem, and gives me tight contact. So, after a few seconds I had all of my new wire ready to install. Installation was fast, and easy after I trained the wire to go where I wanted it to go without putting strain on the crimps. The wire is much stiffer than the original, so you do need to take some care in getting them into the tight space. In the end it took about 5 minutes to sort it all out, and I had it playing out of both channels for the first time in a week!

Solid connectors for a great price. Make sure you take pictures beforehand if it’s not clear which wire connects where.

Easy to replace if you have the right tools. Did not affect my sound quality. I’d recommend these instead of paying way more for the name brand. They work great. Audio technica turn table

Purchased these cartridge wires to help restore a Technics SL-D3 turntable. The wires do fit the leads from the Audio Technica AT-VM95e cartridge, however, will not fit over the leads that feed the tonearm side. The terminal ends of these wires are too large for this application. I attempted to clamp these wires to the headshell leads using a pair of needlenose pliers but the wires' clamps are still too loose. This introduces a very severe hum into the system and it is extremely unpleasant to listen to my vinyl collection. Will have to order an entire new headshell as I don't want to take another chance with cheap wires. I do not recommend that you purchase this wire set if you are attempting to connect them to a Technics headshell.

Purchased two sets of these to replace 30+ year old headshell wire

Like you, I'm a totally obsessed, very picky audio maniac! I bought these wires to mount a $600 cartridge and expect the best. The main reason I bought these is because they have gold plated connectors, eliminating the possibility of corrosion between these wires and the headshell & cartridge pins. So here's the review... These are the best cartridge wires I've used, out of my 4 cartridges. The gold plated connectors SNAP into place perfectly. You'll know for sure that they are strongly seated once they click into place. Very impressive. Each pin has 3 detents in it, so there are 3 points of contact with you cartridge and headshell pins. Also, the wire is 26 gauge, which is one size thicker than normal headshell wire, which is typically 28 gauge. I'm totally impressed...and you will be too

Imagine that. Cables way way less than the audio-technica fit almost perfectly. Don't waste your time with that over priced garbage.. These are nice quality cables..... And they fit with minimal effort. Thanks

Good choice for a basic MM cart. I used on my Grado mono cart on an older Technics. I used the tip of small tweezers to slightly widen the connection on one side of the wire. The other side fit the Headshell just fine.

quality headshell wires should you need a replacement.

Needed replacement for my dads old record player, works great. Got here fairly quickly, for good price. No complaints.
