Review: I would probably give it more like 4 1/2 stars, but overall I am happy with the player. - I got this MP3 player primarily to use to listen to music in the car during trips (I use my car's auxiliary cable port). Like others, I looked around at several options before deciding on this one. I chose this one because of the overall blend of features: price, quality of reviews, sound quality, storage space (and the ability to add more through external memory cards), unit size/layout, quality of construction, and diversity of file format storage/playback. Though I have only had the player for a few months, so far I am happy with my decision. This MP3 player is solidly constructed. It is made of metal and feels heavy and solid. We will see how it holds up (including the internal components), but it feels like it could handle some jostling. The player itself is good and sounds nice. I like that it comes with all of the needed cables (charging cable and an auxiliary cable) and the arm-sleeve pouch is a nice bonus if you wanted to take this on a run or hike. Overall, it sounds good and works well. As other reviewers noted, creating playlists is a two-step process. With my old MP3 player, I could create playlists on my computer's music player and directly sync them with my player. That is not possible with this player. However, as again noted by other reviewers, it is still possible to create playlists on this player. I have not used the built-in playlists (the player comes with 3). Instead, I use a workaround which gives me more flexibility in creating and naming playlists as I want. When you connect the player to your computer, you have the option of opening a folder to view the contents of the player. When you open this folder, you then have the ability to create subfolders. I created several playlists by creating and naming these subfolders and then directly transferring my desired songs into the playlist's folder. It is a bit tedious transferring songs into these folders (you have to do it one at a time by looking for each individual song in its unique artist/album folder on the player--which means you have to copy the songs to your player first and then add them to the playlist you created--and then copying each song one at a time into the folder of the playlist you created), but this is a similar process to the one that I used to have to do on the computer before I could transfer the playlists to my old MP3 player. I do have to redo the work for my old playlists if I want to transfer them to this player, but when I create new playlists, I can just do so right on my player and skip creating them on my computer. One note on this, it seems that the order in which you copy the songs into the playlist is the order in which they will appear in the playlist. I tried rearranging the songs after I had copied them into the playlist folder, but when I opened the player itself, the playlist was still arranged according to the original song order. Incidentally, I have used a similar method to this playlist-creation workaround to create genre folders in which to place artists/albums. This is nice, since the generic genre listings are not always accurate or fine-tuned enough for my tastes. Organizing the artists/albums in this way also makes it easier to find what I am looking for on the player. There are fewer genre folders than artist's folders, so if I am looking for a specific album, I go to the "Folder" tab on the player and search for the album. That way I do not have to scroll through hundreds of artists before I can play the one I am looking for (this is my workaround for, as another reviewer noted, the lack of a search tool on the player). I could not do this on my old MP3 player. The added bonus of these genre folders is that they can act as de facto playlists. Just add whole albums to these folders and switch to shuffle mode and let the algorithm decide your genre-specific playlist. This player is also more versatile than my old one as it can play videos, store photos, and the like. Also, the songs upload to this player much faster than they did with my old player. I would probably give it more like 4 1/2 stars, but overall I am happy with the player.
Review: Best MP3 I have ever had! - This review is for the SOULCKER MP3 Player. I have not used the video function so I cannot comment on that. What's in the package: MP3 music player Armband Earphones Screen protector Instructions Micro USB charge cord Out of the box the player did not have the 'slippery' feel of some others. It has a solid build feel to it that says quality. Earbuds are something you expect that's included. After charging the MP3 player I attached the player to my computer to copy some music files to it, Wow! what an easy process. Other MP3 players that I have had in the past had to be managed with some sort of music management program on the computer but not the SOULCKER, just copy and start playing. Playlists could not be easier as well, just create the folder and name it as you want via the computer. You then just select the folder the everything within the folder plays and the sound quality is awesome. I also tried it out with Bluetooth earbuds and the sound quality was just as great. The Bluetooth feature is something I was looking for as I use the player a lot doing my yard work. The FM radio feature is a nice touch. I get up very early and being able to connect my wired earbuds (the wire is the antenna) allows me to listen to my early morning radio and not disturb my wife. Battery life is amazing. My previous player had a life of 20hrs or less, the SOULCKER is upwards of 55 hours! The SOULCKER plays every music format I have thrown at it, MP3, WMA, FLAC, APE. I primarily use FLAC and as I said the SOULCKER sound quality is excellent. Overall, this music player has far exceeded my expectations. It's like they thought of everything possible and tried to jam it into one device. This is a an excellent value for the quality and features of the device.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ MP3 player with many features, but some significant drawbacks
*by P***R on December 10, 2019*

Ordered this Soulcker mp3 unit mainly on the basis of the reviews, since the name/maker appears to be somewhat new to the market. The player is much more than just an mp3 player, as descriptions and reviews point out, and that is impressive. The unit is a nice size with a good sized interface screen, and feels solid. The tone and playback on mp3 files seems good, at least to my ear and my uses. Battery life appears excellent. My problems with this unit appear to have been similar to what others have experienced. The bluetooth connectability is limited, and I could not get it to pair with either of my car systems. It did work well plugged into my home stereo via proper cord. My main problems have come with transfer of audio mp3 files from my computer using Windows Media Player, and the manual for the Soulker is woefully inadequate in terms of detail or troubleshooting. I have also had trouble getting assistance, which is apparently accessible only through internet, with no telephone support. I have also been unclear just what connection this manufacturer has with Amazon, since many of the Q & A sites seem to be Amazon connected. To put it clearly, Windows Media Player and the Soulker seem only to "Play Nice with each other to some extent, not in every instance. I have installed a 128G mini SD card, and the process for transferring files to that is so far eluding me (I'm not a novice at computers, but not a wizard either), but I haven't given up yet. With the unit plugged in to the computer and accessed through windows, the miniSD does not show up. Also, the manual is again not very clear on how to download files onto the mini SD so that the playlist accesses it. To sum up, this seems to be a promising unit, if the manual can be beefed up and clearer, and support a LOT more accessible. I like it enough to keep pursuing the support assistance I need.
