Great value for good quality photo frame!
Picked this up because it was on sale and also the size ( I was looking to get a small 7" frame to fit on my shelves.) got to say I am not disappointed with my purchase! Out of the box it is easy to setup, though I was the kick stand could be adjustable, it still does sit at a good angle that the pictures can be visibly seen. Looking upon the photo frame at certain angle does affect the appearance and quality of the photo's so for the most part you do need to be looking at a somewhat straight forward view for optimal viewing and at a certain distance as well (I'd say within 2 ft for optimal viewing.) Again, for the cost of the product still worth it. Setting up the unit was really simple. I choose to use a 8GB USB 2.0 Dongle. Did not have to reformat the Dongle, left as is. Did not need to create any folders, just copied and placed the files on the Root Directory. Did not need to change the file format for the files (left them as JPEG.). As far for picture orientation goes I took a lot of my picture's in a Vertical shot (mostly selfies) so all I had to do was re-edit the photo to set them to Landscape. Depending on the device that you used to take the photo's you may loose quality in the editing process. Their maybe programs that you can use to recover the lost quality of the photo from the conversion to landscape setting but you'll need to research that yourself. Again, great value for a good quality photo frame!

All-Around good digital frame for June 2025
The feel of a digital frame makes you want it to be a touch screen. A friend has his as a touch screen- at least for navigating through the pictures. Uploading to this one worked with connecting USB to PC. USB would probably work with flash drive too. iPhone to USB Digital frame does not work unfortunately. I don't know of such a digital frame with such accessibility. I didn't need to download an app- for another digital frame, it made it seem like I needed to download an app and connect to wifi. After returning that frame, the vendor put that that particular frame does not connect via an app or wifi. What's also tricky- probably for all frames, is that you may need to toggle with the buttons on the back. I don't like that the buttons aren't on the front of the frame. If the frame is already hung up, to have to take it off and modify would be more than a pain. I don't know if such a digital frame with that degree of accessibility and user friendly technology exists. So, I'm giving this frame 5 stars still because I think the combination of setting it up and for me to put a pic and a few songs on their was reasonably seamless enough with a slight understanding of moving files from on window to another. (This could be too much for super low tech savvy people.)

Good Resolution, Basic Features, Some Limitations
This frame has a very good screen resolution (800x480) for its price range. Also has very simple controls and operations. If you are looking for a feature-rich frame with sophisticated on screen menu, this frame is not for you, but if you are looking for high resolution frame with basic features at a reasonable price, this frame fits the bill. While the majority of digital cameras shoot with the aspect ratio of 4:3, this frame as well as almost all other frames are wide-screen, with the aspect ratio of 5:3. I don't understand why there should be some conflicting standards for two items that go hand in hand, it reminds me of the packaging buns and hot dogs. In any case, this frame shows the pictures in landscape only. If you want your landscape pictures to be shown in full with no white space around them, you have to manually crop them to give them a 5:3 aspect ratio before you put them on the memory card. Otherwise, you have to use the frame's Mode button to use either of its three display modes (Full, Auto-fit, Pan-scan). The Full mode will stretch the picture to fit the width of the screen, thus to some degree distorts the image. Auto-fit shows the whole picture, therefore showing a 4:3 picture on a 5:3 screen will leave white space (actually black space) on both sides. Pan-scan, which is the default mode, matches the width of the image with the width of the frame, thus to show a 4:3 picture, the fame crops from the top and bottom of the image to bring it to 5:3 aspect ratio, so the crop is done automatically, but not at your discretion. It has auto slide-show with nice random transitions to show pictures at three preset speeds. The default is fast (6 seconds on each picture). By pressing the Time button on the back of the frame, you can switch to medium (15 seconds), or slow (30 seconds). For the slide-show, if you want the pictures to be shown in a specific order, there is no control for that. To achieve that, you have to copy the pictures to the memory card one by one in the order you want them to be shown, because the frame shows the pictures based on the copy date/time stamp. The frame can only show pictures in JPEG format, but for many that shouldn't be a problem, as this is the most popular format. However, you need to know something that I learned the hard way. I had many JPEG pictures that this frame could not show. These are normal JPEG images that can be shown by all browsers and graphic program in the computer, yet the frame could not show them. I played with their resolution and other properties, to no avail. Finally, it turns out that if an image has been saved by a photo editing software (I use PhotoImpact), although it is saved in JPEG, the frame cannot show it. The frame can only show the images that come directly from a digital camera, or saved by Microsoft Paint program. So when I called the images the frame could not show into Windows Paint program and saved them with Paint, they could be shown in the frame. I contacted Aluratek's technical support, but they responded that they do not have any solution for this problem yet. Another thing that I learned by experience is the that Off button (holding the Play/Pause button for 3 seconds) turns off the screen, but does not reset the circuits. In few cases the frame showed a distorted image. I turned the frame off using this button, to no avail. When I unplugged the frame and plugged it back in, everything turned out OK. Another behavior about this frame which I do not like is that when you turn it off (unplug it) it looses all its setups and when you turn it back on, everything goes back to the default. For example, if you change the transition speed to medium (15 seconds) or slow (30 seconds), when you turn it off and on, it is back to fast (6 seconds). Overall, in my view if you can live with a few small flaws, it is a good frame with very good resolution at a reasonable price.

Love It!
Love it. We have one and when our Great Aunt moved into assisted living she couldn't take the containers full of pictures with her. My husband diligently started scanning all the pictures into the memory card. She can now display this simple but attractive frame on her table and enjoy pictures she hadn't been able to look at in years. We love ours and it was a great gift for her. Worth the buy!

Cheap Junk
I think that in general LCD picture displays are a poor value for the money. Just buy a Kindle Fire and set up a slide slow on it, way better image quality and capabilities. This is what I will do next. I bought this one because it looked cheap and easy, but it has a number of issues. The picture quality is poor. It is very fickle about image file names. If a file name is not of a format that it likes then it will just lock up and not function with no error message displayed. I just figured this out by trial and error. It seems to especially not like long file names and/or file names with special characters. Short and simple works best. Random crashes. Occasionally it just reboots with no error message displayed. Partial image display. After some fiddling I got it up and running reasonably well, but after a few days it started only displaying partial images frequently (and rebooting more frequently). It finally got bad enough that I just disconnected it and added it to the electronic junk bin...its not worth wasting time to fix. No auto dim. This is not an advertised feature of this product, but something to be aware of. The display is bright and there is no way to set a time based dim/screen blank so at night the light can be quite bright and distracting. UPDATE 20220604: Instead of this piece of junk I got a refurbished Kindle Fire HD and set it up to run a slideshow. Radically better results! The Kindle HD has a much better quality display. I loaded the "Fotoo" app on it, which gets mediocre reviews, but I find to be excellent for my purposes. Features I particularly like: photos can be sourced from multiple cloud storage services (I use DropBox) and local SD storage. It has a configurable schedule for checking for new photos, so you can just drop new ones into a cloud folder - no need to fiddle with loading onto and SD card. It also has a start/stop scheduler so that you can let the screen blank/dim off hours (no glare from the screen while you are trying to sleep). Blows the doors off this piece of junk!

Beware: new version since Dec. 2010 has less internal memory
I have bought three of the Aluratek ADMPF108F since March 2010 and the latest one I purchased from J&R on Dec. 1st 2010 came distinctly different from the prior two bought directly from Amazon. Mainly: 1. The back casing is more rounded and sleeker. The LCD is notably brighter and more crisp which was nice. 2. The leg changed to a cylinder rod you screw-in. Not much complaint there. 3. The software has a more win-7 like interface which is a tad more difficult to navigate than the old one. 4. The mini-USB port is gone. Currently the only ports are 1 SD slot and 1 USB female. As before the USB female is for inserting your thumb drive with pictures. Problem is how do we copy pictures from our PC to the internal memory now that the mini-USB is gone? I found out the hard way that tucked in the menu->settings->general settings->USB->Connect to PC/Thumb drive needs to be set correctly to allow this to happen. Needless to say none of it is covered by the manual. The box did come with a USB male-male cable for that. 5. However after all the ordeal I found out there is only 303 MB free space on the internal memory. There is one sentence on the manual that did say the internal memory can be less than advertised due to some software installation. But 200 MB a quite a big chunk less than what the big 512 MB printed on the box. I felt cheated as I was buying these frames to send off to grand parents of my kids so the internal memory was an important feature. The two older models both produce 512MB of free space without a problem. And all three share the same model# and packaging. That said I still love using this frame and I think Aluratek makes one of the best software for digital frames from my experience. + The 'cropped' mode is very nice for portrait mode pictures. It enlarges the picture so part of the top and bottom is cropped but most in the middle is displayed with minimal black bars to the left and right. I returned a couple of other brand frames simply for lacking this feature (think a tiny portrait image in the middle of a giant frame). + 4:3 is great balance for both landscape and portrait pics. + If you have subfolders it goes through them one by one and display all images. Again beats some silly design in other brands where you have to put pictures in the root folder. + Completely customizable picture-picture delay time and turn-on/off timer time.

Perfect for Seniors
I bought this for my mother who is 83. She loves to look at pictures and since she doesn't understand smart phones or advanced technology this is perfect. I have put over 1,000 pictures on a flash drive for her. I update the flash drive every couple of months so she can have new pictures to look at. This product is easy to understand and use. I leave the flash drive in the frame and all she has to do is turn the power button on. She absolutely loves it and will sit and watch the entire slide show instead of watching TV. The picture quality is great and it automatically turns the photos upright. I highly recommend this product. I am going to order my dad one too. It really brings joy to my mom's life.

Package missing power supply
The power supply is missing from the box. I only got one USB-C cable, but the device doesn’t even have a USB-C socket.
