RITUALS The Ritual of Samurai Charcoal Face Scrub, 125ml

I am not sure if the Samurai range is supposed to be the masculine offering - but the scent is reasonably masculine, not that it really matters with a face wash. This is a natural face wash, with a wonderful consistency. It's certainly got a small amount of oil in it which stops it over drying the skin and for me the small bits of charcoal are just right to give the face a good scrub without overdrying. A very good product - would not hesitate to buy again.

This is great. It washes off my make up (not that I am wearing much in lockdown!) and allows my moisturiser to soak in. I have had it for 3 months and have loads left!

I don't really know how useful the charcoal and bamboo are as ingredients in this product, but what I can say is that this is a really effective scrub that has definitely improved the quality of my shaves. I shave twice a week and have been using this product beforehand. It has quite a firm consistency, which is what I would expect, and I apply to my face but particularly focussing on my beard area. After use, I have been able to achieve a much closer, smoother shave. Using this regularly seems also to have reduced razor burn and, crucially, I have had fewer ingrowing beard hairs. The skin on my nose and forehead also look much clearer and brighter, and my complexion overall is much smoother and clearer. This is a great scrub that gives results without any issues with skin irritation, even with my somewhat sensitive skin! It's a little pricey for what it is, but overall it is worth the extra outlay.

This is a pleasant enough product with quite a nice (synthetic) scent which reminds me a little of cedar. It's based on glycerine, shea butter and various natural oils such as sunflower and grape. The active ingredient is charcoal powder. This is the exfoliator. For this reason the the lotion is grey. Charcoal is quite an abrasive exfoliant. Although it is a natural product and and preferable to microbeads which are bad for the environment. If you want an idea, it's probably similar to the abrasiveness of caster sugar. I would only recommend this for somebody with a thickish skin because I suspect this may be too abrasive for anyone with a fine, sensitive skin or easily inflamed skin such as anyone prone to eczema or rosacea.

Similarly to Ritual’s face wash for men, the scent is nice but the product itself is average at best. I never feel like it’s done a good job of scrubbing my skin. I’ll be going back to using Lab Series’ face scrub in future.

Er ist subtil und für ein Männerpflegeprodukt angemessen, könnte jedoch für manche etwas markanter sein. Trotzdem finde ich, dass der Duft gut zu der klärenden Natur des Peelings passt. Die Textur des Peelings ist genau richtig. Es ist nicht zu grob, sodass es die Haut sanft aber effektiv peelt und nach der Anwendung ein sehr glattes und erfrischtes Hautgefühl hinterlässt. Ich schätze, wie das Peeling ohne zu trocknen oder ein unangenehmes Spannungsgefühl zu hinterlassen, abspült. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist gut. Obwohl es nicht das günstigste Gesichtspeeling auf dem Markt ist, rechtfertigen die Ergebnisse den Preis. Es ist eine lohnende Investition für alle, die ein zuverlässiges Peeling suchen, das regelmäßig angewendet werden kann und konstant gute Ergebnisse liefert.
