One might think that with 38 options at least one would be some kind of soft wind chime sound, or other soothing chime. In my opinion, every sound is loud, harsh and annoying. I found one I can tolerate at the lowest volume. Both volume and sound choice are made by cycling through the options, and it resets when unplugged so if you are moving the receiver from one location to another as I do you have to reset volume and sound choice each time. And it’s sort of a noisy process that could easily annoy others. So if I want to move the receiver into my bedroom at night and my husband is already sleeping there is no way to reset without waking him. I can mute it, count the clicks, unmute, and hope I get it right. That’s the best solution I can think of. Unfortunately, the transmission signal was different for each set of sensors and I had to use both receivers—one receiver for each set of 4 sensors. It looks like each set of sensors is programmed to different a signal channel. Maybe other people are lucky and receive sets that are all programmed to the same channel. That’s ok though. I can use each set of 4 sensors to cover different zones of my house and have a different alarm sound play on each receiver based on what zone it’s coming from. Overall, I was still pretty happy with the product. **Q: How could this not be weatherproof? I mean, driveways are usually outside, right?** A: I have mine on the outside garage wall underneath the eave, it gets rain and snow blowed on it, don’t have any problems because the sensor is run off of batteries. I had one similar to this one and it lasted almost ten years. **Q: Does it stop ringing after you have parked your car in the garage?** A: The unit sounds the chime/alarm only as long as it senses motion.., any motion Once motion stops then it will stop sounding the chime. For a car in a garage the issue you will have is that anytime that someone walks by the sensor it will sound the chime again. Park a car in the garage that is full of people and you might want to take a gun to the unit (lol). Forget about doing any work around the sensor as it will also keep, “Sounding off”.
