Review: Well conceived, but a deep dive few can afford - There is so much content here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, but I wouldn't have it in my library without Pattern Language. Most designers that plan and design full time would rarely get the scale of projects to test the limits of this reference. It's a little like driving a nail with a sledge hammer. If you just enjoy the subject, this is rich and won't disappoint. If your interest is casual I would recommend Pattern Language first.

There is so much content here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, but I wouldn't have it in my library without Pattern Language. Most designers that plan and design full time would rarely get the scale of projects to test the limits of this reference. It's a little like driving a nail with a sledge hammer. If you just enjoy the subject, this is rich and won't disappoint. If your interest is casual I would recommend Pattern Language first.
