Alpine S-A60M, S Series Class D Monoblock Subwoofer Amplifier, 600 Watts

Rated at 600 watts at 2 Ohms, my test sheet shows 726 watts of total output. Pretty good! This is a no-frills amp- no subsonic filter, no clipping light, and the bass knob is extra, but it's easy to set up, mostly. It doesn't have speaker inputs, so you have to get RCA adapters. The most important thing this amp has is clean, powerful sound. It does not color the bass like some amps do. I had 2 other amps in this general wattage range- the first sounded weak and kinda flat, and the other made my sub sound muddy. The Alpine just gives strong, unfiltered bass to my IDMAX 12", and really made it come alive. And for the current price, it's impossible to do better. I've had Alpine amps in the past and liked them, so I'm not sure why I strayed. But I'm glad to be back in the family because the sound quality is top notch. *edit* For a tuning tip, get your gain and x-over set to where you like it, with the bass boost at zero. I then turned the bass boost up 1 notch, and reduced the gain just a tad, and that really made my older music come alive. Give that a try if your music from the 80's and older doesn't kick like the newer stuff does.

I paired this with a 10" pioneer. Works great, sounds good.

Love this amp! Plenty of power and easy install. its a powerhouse! Looks great and sounds loud and clean! The control cable is great to have where I can make quick adjustments from the head unit. and at the amp for fine adjustments. I added the subwoofer remote also its the RUX Knob 2 works great! the size is perfect and its a solid build. I have mine hooked up to a JBL 1200 SSL subwoofer. WOW! Outstanding!

Great little bass amp. Puts out more than most will need. The only reason it is not a 5 is the cover the mounting fasteners go through is plastic. Not a deal breaker at all. I will use it as a top choice again.

Very nice compact amplifier that does exactly what it is intended to do with lots of power to drive a 600W sub. Very happy with this purchase. It is easy to setup and install.

After blowing 3 cheap Chinese knock-off amplifiers, I went with a reliable name brand and glad I did. I'm only running a single 12" Kicker sub in a Jeep Wrangler but this Alpine delivers. It sounds really good, it never overheats even when I am playing it super loud, and I never have to worry about it. Highly recommend.

I had a very unfortunate incident with my previous Alpine amp where another component upstream killed it. I've used mostly Alpine amps since the early 90's and some of my equipment from that era is still in operation today. This was a replacement for the MV500, which was a competent amp- especially for the price. The increase in price had me a little annoyed at first until I heard it. This amp is a far better performer. My Polk MM 10" sub loves this amp, likely because it's getting 670 watts according to the dyno test sheet that came with the Alpine unit. I don't use the internal crossovers etc as I have a new DSP upstream doing all the work- but it has excellent adjustability and bass boost if one needs it. My setup is definitely for sound quality, but it can still rattle internal organs- this amp is solid and worth every penny!

This item failed after two years of limited use in a hot rod only driven in nice weather during the summer. I did some homework and they have known thermal issues that were addressed with the next generation of this amp (S2). Basically it starts to cut out until it just won't turn on anymore... The S-A60M Issue: The first-generation S-Series amplifiers were known to have sensitive internal protection circuits. Over time, heat cycles would cause components in the protection loop to drift, triggering false thermal shutdowns or "protect mode" loops. Once triggered, the amp would cut out intermittently—often recovering after a power cycle or volume drop—until the protection circuit or the output transistors failed entirely

La marca mantiene su calidad. Me quedó sobrado para un cajón con subwoofer plano Pioneer Ts-a2500lb. Pero en cuanto encontré el punto de ajuste sonó excelente. Sabes que la potencia ofrecida es la potencia que tendrás, no los miles de supuestos watts de otras marcas que no cumplen. Mal que a diferencia de otras marcas, tengas que comprar la perilla de ajuste remoto. Casi todas las otras marcas lo incluyen.
