Bessey 12" Gearklamp Quick Action Bar Clamp

Ever tried to use an F-clamp and found yourself smashing your fingers trying to tighten the clamp, because the twist handle was so close to a leg or side? Yeah, me too... These clamps completely eliminate that problem! The handle that tightens the clamp is well back from the clamping surfaces, so you can tighten these clamps down with ease in those situations. Such an elegant solution to a vexing problem! Bessey makes quality clamps that are generally somewhat overpriced (in my opinion), so I usually have a hard time recommending them. But this is a truly innovative product, and Bessey is the only company I've seen offering them, so in this case, I'll make the exception. I highly recommend these clamps. You don't need a lot of them, but having a few of them in various sizes might just save you a few busted knuckles!

These clamps are great for getting into tight spaces. Also I love the way they work, very novel idea !!! I bought 4 of them and use them all the time. Bessy makes the best clamps out there and you will not be disappointed at all. They seem to be pretty robust as well. It would be a buy again if I need more of them.

These difitely have a cool "gadget" factor to them. I kind of wonder if there's an application for these where a "pistol grip" bar clamp wouldn't work as well (at least for the shorter ones). For a longer clamp-up, these do seem to have a stiffer bar and probably won't flex as much if you can't use a pipe clamp. There might be some "in-place" applications where these will have an advantage, but they're probably not a "must have" for workshop clamping. Also, the range of motion of the screw is fairly short so you have to get the grip set pretty closeto the final before tightening, and it might not clear around some face frames.

These are very well made and it’s a good thing that Amazon carries these as they are much more expensive at a big box store. If you’re looking for a clamp that provides more knuckle space these are what your looking for. They do require 2 hands. If I ever need more I wouldn’t hestitate to buy a couple more from Amazon.

What else to expect from a Made in Germany product --- yes, I'm bias --- but I was not let down by this very well designed and build in Germany product. is in "expensice" ? no, not really considering the value-for-money level of quality it's actually very reasonably priced

I found these clamps especially useful when two or more clamps must be used close to one another. Attempting to tighten traditional clamps such as K-clamps in such situations often requires trying to tighten with one finger and thumb. By having the tightening handle on the bar, the whole hand can be used. This is an excellent product.

It's an ok clamp, but certainly not worth the money. I'm not even certain the feature of being low profile or whatever it's supposed to do is useful. I've done a LOT of clamping and never needed this. Also, it's a lightweight clamp with not much clamping force.
