**Q: are the knives really as good as the reviews claim? I am skeptic and I love to cook and I say a cook is only as good as the tools he/she uses.**
A: I cook all the time and take my kitchen tools seriously. I bought this set in 2008 and never had to sharpen them. 8 years and still cutting like new.

A: I bought the knives like 2 weeks ago and they are amazing, they have a lifetime warranty in case the knives dull or are damaged. I bought the knives without the wood block holder but I may end up buying it because they are sharp and could be dangerous to those reaching into draw to get a knife. I read a review that mentioned the back side of the knife (non cutting side) is sharp and I find that yes it is true, if you cut like i do where you put pressure on the back side of the knife as you cut you may find like few slits in your fingers, nothing dangerous though. If your considering getting new knives I would recommend them, they are extremely well priced and cut like no knife that i have had before, hope this helps.
