Quick food done right
I love instant cup style soups for the convince they offer. I hate the salt, fat, and long list of artificial flavors. Nile Spice Soups offer a great alternative with all the convince. This is a filling quick lunch or snack. It has only 170 calories and 1.5g of fat. While it is a bit high on the sodium (640mg) it is much lower than a popular brand of ramen soup (1170mg). The taste is great and it is filling. It is a great source of fiber (12g or 47% of daily values) and is also high in protein (12g). This is a great tasty quick lunch that also packs in great nutritional values.

I have enjoyed this soup for years
I have enjoyed this soup for years, and have purchased several 12-packs through Amazon. When I started eating the first carton from my latest purchase, I knew immediately something had changed, and not for the better. The texture was all wrong and the soup tasted too sweet. I checked the label and was disgusted to learn that the soup now contains 9 grams of sugar (versus 3), and only 8 grams of protein, compared to 12 previously. In addition, the fat content is 1/3 higher and there are 10 additional calories. I pitched the 11 remaining cartons of soup, and I will never purchase a Nile Spice product again. I notice that the current product Amazon is listing shows the OLD nutrition information. Something tells me this is so much baloney.

Pretty gross
I love the pea soup, it's delicious. This is something I won't eat unless I absolutely have to. It has a black brant taste for an instant before fading to a cardboard flavor. 2/5 buying more split pea next time.

Tasty filling lunch for only 4 Weight Watchers points
I've lost 50+ pounds at Weight Watchers this year, and having quick lunches that are low in calories has contributed to my success. This Black Bean soup is filling and quick to make - just add boiling water up to a finger's width of the top of the carton, stir it, wait a few minutes, and presto - lunch. It isn't the best black bean soup I've ever had (I would need fresh cilantro and sour cream to make that happen,) but it is very good. It dissolves well, and doesn't leave crunchy bits to break your teeth, as do other brands I've tried. I buy these soups by the case, and have a different flavor almost every day for lunch. My husband has even started eating them - by choice!

A good start to making great black bean soup
I buy these by the case, take them out of the paper cups, put them into a jar, add my own spices and they are ready to use whenever I need them. All I need is a cup and some hot water to have a great quick lunch that tastes good. Unlike other reviewers who complain about their lack of spice I am happy with that as I find I can tailor them to fit my own taste without much effort. They are a great additive to different soups, sauces and other dishes that call for black beans. I appreciate the opportunity to buy them via the Subscribe and Save program at Amazon, since the price is lower. I wish that the product was sold in a bulk pack like Bear Lake soups make so that I didn' as I do now.t have to deal with little cups

Bang for the buck
It's not over-the-top spicy but it does have a lot of flavor and everyone is right when they say to leave it standing for ten minutes instead of the recommended five. The consistency is more like puree of bean soup, but I like it. I ordered this and the Lentil soup and I'll order them both again. Twelve grams of protein, twelve grams of fiber, it's cubicle stable and all you need to make it gourmet are the pizza box parmesan cheese packets left in the break room. And the price? Done and done!

Good--but needs more 'spice'
With a name like "Nile Spice" I thought this soup would have a bit more kick than it does. Don't get me wrong, it's very tasty and also fairly filling, but it isn't really spicy at all. I've taken to adding to red pepper flakes to turn the heat up a bit, and that's made it a lot better. If you like your food spicy, this might not be the best soup choice unless like me you add some of your own seasoning.
