## Description

Kershaw Knives joined forces with Belarusian knife maker Dmitry Sinkevich to create the Nura 3.0. With its 3-inch blade, the Nura 3.0 is a right-sized knife. For the same style in a larger knife, check out the Nura 3.5. Sinkevich's personal emphasis is on knives that incorporate intelligent design, state-of-the-art materials and have a strong emphasis on quality fit and finish. That made him a natural fit with Kershaw and our own dedication to innovation and quality. The Nura features Kershaw's KVT ball-bearing system for smooth, easy opening without a mechanical assist. Instead, the user pulls back on a flipper and the blade moves out of the handle quickly and easily. The key is a washer with caged ball bearings that surrounds the pivot and makes opening the knife nearly frictionless. The Nura handle design has a sleek, streamlined look and feel. The blade is quality stainless steel, heat treated to Kershaw's demanding specifications to bring out the best qualities in the steel, then titanium carbo-nitride coated for additional protection and performance. The slim handle is made of stainless steel with machined grooves that provide style and extra grip. The handle is titanium carbo-nitride coated, then sanded to reveal a shiny steel surface. A frame lock provides blade lockup security.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars

    Slick design.

*by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2016*

I have been eyeing this knife for a while. I like the retro-futuristic design. I am also a fan of flippers and Kershaw in general. The blade deploys smoothly thanks to the IKBS caged bearings. You will notice that the detent to keep the blade closed is a bit stronger than on other knives. I'm guessing this is because of the low friction nature of the bearings. I did take mine apart and clean the pivot. The grease on it from the factory was too viscous. I used a lighter grease made for firearms. The grip is comfortable. It doesn't have the grippiest scales, but the shape combined with the flipper keep the knife locked in the hand well. The scales have a brushed pattern that runs parallel to the blade. The ball milled slots are more for show as they don't really enhance grip. Of course I didn't but this to be my tough camping folder, but as a neat EDC for the office. One caveat. The blade didn't come sharp. I like to touch up my new knives anyway, but this one took more time. The edges were even, but not sharp at all. For the price, I don't mind to sharpen. For the size, the knife was not as heavy as I thought an all metal knife would be. Many all metal knives are like rocks; tough but heavy. This knife weighs just a bit more than my Skyline.Overall a great knife and great design. If you want something that looks a little different, but don't want to shell out a ton of money, this is the knife you want. Would recommend.

### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars

    Great looks but poor functionality.

*by M***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2017*

I bought this knife primarily for the looks, and it loks great. However the function is not up to par. Does not open well, as many others have said. And, once open, on mine the frame lock is MUCH too tight, requiring two hands to close. The pocket clip is also too strong, making it very difficult to get the knife into or out of a pocket. I think it might actually damage some pants. My first and probably last Kershaw. Great looking but poorly implemented. Three stars based solely on the looks.

    High value flipper

*by N***O on Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2016*

For the price, this is a fantastic knife. If you like knives and are into flippers, this is a decent high value flipper that you can add to your collection or your EDC rotation. The steel isn't the best, when you compare it to other "exotic" steels, but if you can sharpen a knife the 8cr13mov will serve you well. I'm not much of a fan of the blade coating. To me, it just doesn't match the rest of the knife, but I can get past it due to the awesome value!Normally, I'm not much of a fan of the stainless or titanium handle knives, but this one was too good to pass up. The scales are brushed and look amazing. Although the metal scales make the knife heavier than one with plastic or g10 scales, so keep that in mind. The pocket clip is single position, tip up, right hand only. No lanyard hole. The frame lock secures the blade every time. The nura flips decent. I say decent because it's obviously not going to be on part with a higher end Hinderer or ZT. However it's not totally terrible either. I would say it's just below a crkt ripple in terms of flippability. Also, the bearings/detent ball will need to wear a channel into the blade itself, so it will take a good amount of opening and closing before it gets broken in. You also shouldn't have to flick your wrist to deploy it when it's broken in. However it doesn't flip well when you utilize the "light switch" technique for deployment. If you adopt more of a slapping motion with your finger (hold the knife, and then smack the flipper arm with your finger) it will flip great. For the price, this knife is great, although I will probably buy the 3.5 version soon for the longer blade.
