Ghostbusters Ecto 1A

I bought the original Ecto-1 vehicle from Playmobil 2 years ago along with the Ghostbusters Firehouse Playset. They have sat proudly on display since then. When I heard that Playmobil had made the Ghostbusters 2 Ecto-1A version of the vehicle, I ordered it immediately! The body and wheels of the car are identical to the original version, except for the factory applied paint details. All of the logos and emergency markings are pre-applied so you don't have to worry about putting stickers on crooked or pealing off with use. Some assembly required means, you have to put together each of the four part wheels with rubber tires, and clip in the rear hatch (plus a few detail parts like the headlights/taillights). The roof details have to be snapped in place in the roof rack and some stickers applied, but it's pretty simple. I'm really impressed at the level of detail Playmobil put into these toys, as not only are details pieces mostly unique to each version of the car, but the entire roof rack with electronics is unique (though interchangeable) as well. This version also features MORE lights then the first version, with 6 LEDs in each light bar instead of 4. To change/install the batteries you will need a small philips head screwdriver, but that's the only thing you needs tools for. Also, it isn't made a big deal of on the package, but the "We're Back" signs on the roof are lenticular holograms. They are kind of dark, but it's still a cool effect and a nice touch by the manufacturers. Also, this version comes with all four original Ghostbusters in there GB2 version jumpsuits with proton packs x2, Slim Blowers x2, a Giga Meter x1 and a trap x1. (Another great detail as the Giga Meter only appears in GB2). All four figures fit into the car and there are storage places for the backpacks and trap inside. To sum up, if YOU or you child is a Ghostbusters fan, this is a fantastic toy/collectible. The toy is built/designed to survive a child's play time, but there are tons of details that show that the set was made by fans of the Ghostbusters, for fans of the Ghostbusters!

Bought as a gift for my husband. He loved it! and enjoys showing it off in his man cave. It's good quality and he enjoyed putting it together with our son.

Putting this together with my son was the highlight of Christmas day and..honestly, most of 2021. We needed this, this was more than a big toy. It was the two of us, working together and lost in this Ghostbusters station and movies and quotes... forgetting that we had covid, forgetting that we hadn't seen our families in weeks. So much fun! (It also made up for me never getting the original station back in the 80's as a kid, too lol!) So much fun, so incredible.. 10/10 recommended. Buy it now!!

Loved it perfect for the fire house

Yes, I believe the 1A is more impressive than the original. It was meant to grab your attention even more than the first vehicle as this was a comeback. Playmobil does not kid around, even though they're meant for kids. This is a highly detailed and playable replica. Why pay hundreds of dollars for a Hot Wheels replica when you can have lights and sounds for WAY less? And this one comes with all four Ghostbuster character figures. It's a real bargain and a MUST for collectors and fans.

Great product. It has lots of cool sounds but not too loud. Now I am thinking g of getting the firehall for the next gift for him. Takes a bit of time to put it all together but stays together once built.

For £38, this is a bargain. The Playmobil Ecto 1A could easily pass as a miniature as it is so detailed. The sounds and lights are bright and accurate. As a huge ghostbusters fan since I was about 11, I have to say, this is an incredible piece. Building it is extremely satisfying too. Get it, you won’t regret it.
