JBL CLIP 3 - Portable Bluetooth Speaker

I bought this speaker 3-4 yrs ago because all my friends had some sort of portable speaker and frankly, I wanted to be part of the hype. I have not regretted my purchase since. This speaker has been through everything. It's been left out in the rain overnight (accident), been paddleboarding, hiking, showering, carpooling, slumber party-ing, you name it. I've played it til it's dead nearly every single time, and it still holds a charge like new. I can let it play all day and it'll last a week or two, sometimes a month if I'm using it irregularly. The only sign of wear I've noticed is the screw on the hinge of the clip peeking out a bit. However, for everything's it's been through, I find that reasonable. It doesn't effect the clip's function at all. Nothing about the product description is false. It's waterproof. It clips. It connects. It plays. It charges. It helps you survive break-ups. It grips. No seriously, it grips. It got left on the top of my car and it was still there after a mile downhill of windy mountain roads. The only thing it hasn't really been exposed to is a lot of dust. I haven't heard how riders like it, but I know a covered arena is a death sentence for most Bluetooth speakers. Can't say for sure how Clip 3 holds up against that simply because it's never been. I've had a couple of people over the years complain that it didn't have enough bass but like???? It's the size of my hand?? The bass and volume is honestly great for its size and purpose, if you want something with more oomph and kapow then you should be looking for a different product. This speaker does what it does and it does it WELL. My friends bought one around the same time and it's been just as consistent and reliable with the same treatment. I also have a friend with the Clip 5 (which I've heard addresses some customer complaints with Clip 3), and they've had a great experience as well. I haven't noticed much difference between the editions and honestly, Clip 3 is the OG for me. I can't complain, I can only love it. Clip 3 has been by my side longer than some food trucks have been open. Clip 3 has dinner on the table for me when I get home. When I fell off my longboard and chickened out of getting back on, Clip 3 was on my belt loop for the walk of shame back to my apartment. If this speaker ever dies, I'm sending it out in a boat with trophies from its battles and then lighting it on fire for a proper warrior's funeral. And then I'm dusting it off and turning it back on.

I absolutely love this mini JBL speaker! The sound quality is incredible for its size — clear, powerful, and with amazing volume. I use it at work every day, and it makes my day so much better with great music wherever I go. It is compact, easy to carry, and the battery life is excellent. I’m impressed by how such a small speaker can deliver such amazing sound. The quality is exactly what I expected from JBL. Definitely one of my favorite purchases, and I highly recommend it!

This little speaker packs a punch Its loud and connects effortlessly. It has ability to hard wire AUX which is convenient for us synth enthusiasts. Sand or water cant penetrate the speaker at all. Very solid. Would buy again.

Honestly this is a great cheaper speaker. A lot of people tend to go for the newest model, but if you are just looking for something simple and loud, definitely louder than your phone speaker, this is the one. I do plumbing and facilities work and I am always moving around with music playing from my phone in my pocket. Sometimes it is just not loud enough, so I bought this and it fixed that right away. It is loud, waterproof, and has controls on the speaker so I do not have to touch my phone with dirty hands. The sound quality is good overall. At the beginning I noticed a little bit of static but I think it was just a pairing issue because it went away completely. Now it plays clean and crisp. Overall I am really happy with it, great value for the price.

Let me start by saying I love this speaker. I work at Walmart and we have these for $59, and only in black, camo, and silver. I’ve been wanting one for a while so I decided to go on here and check for cheaper prices first. Boy, am I glad I did! Not only was I able to get these for a good $20 cheaper, but in my favorite color; pink! These are very good quality speakers, the first thing I did when I got mine was throw it in the pool to see if it was really waterproof like it says. I only left it in there for about a minute because I just wanted to hurry up and listen to music, but it does indeed float and no piece of hardware seems to have suffered as a result (there’s a rubber piece that covered the aux and charging port, and I worried that water might deep in after so long. But that appears to have not been the case). So if you’re thinking of taking one of these to go casually canoeing or kayaking, I would definitely recommend it, just so long as you’re not going white water rafting or anything intense (the speaker is pretty small and can fit in the palm of your hand, so it might get lost a bit too easily in rapids even if it does float). Now, onto the sound. The sound quality itself is - in my opinion - about what you’d expect from JBL. Very pristine and clear, no lags or sudden disconnections from Bluetooth like some speakers have. The volume honestly doesn’t get all that high, even with your phone and the speakers’ volume at full max. However, it’s plenty loud enough for normal folk to enjoy while you’re swimming, hiking, boating, working, or whatever. Though when you take into consideration its small size, I am honestly impressed with how loud it gets. So if you’re wanting something compact that you can blast the neighbors out of house and home with, this definitely isn’t for you. Now the clip. Let’s face it, the thing that probably attracts us most about this speaker is the fact it has a built-in clip for you to take it wherever you want; portable music! And it honestly accomplishes that feat really really well. A lot of cheaper clips won’t stay straight when you try to hook them onto things, and you have to physically move it back into place to fully ‘hook’. Not this thing. I’ve hooked it onto doorknobs, backpacks, the belt loops of my jeans...I’ve never had to readjust. Just clip and go. And for that reason alone I feel this thing is a keeper. The battery life is supposed to be around 10 hours, and I honestly haven’t used it a WHOLE lot so far but it feels like it lasts longer to me. That may be just because I’ve been using it for a few hours on and off and not for the 10 hours straight, but the battery still lasts a good while. I got about 8-9 hours right out of the box alone, with no charging. The ONLY thing that bugs me about this thing are the tiny, almost microscopic rubber nubbies on the bottom. I know they’re probably there for traction or whatever if you set it down on something, but they really irritate me to feel against my skin when I’m holding or carrying it. However it’s a small thing that’s definitely not a dealbreaker, and 90% of the time it’s gonna be hooked to something and not rubbing against my skin anyways. So other than that little thing this speaker is 100% gold to me! Basics overall: 1. Sound quality: 9/10 2. Volume: 7/10 3. Portability: 10/10 4. Waterproofness: 10/10 (though granted, I haven’t extensively tested this one, how long are you really gonna leave this thing in the water?) 5. Battery life: 10/10 6. Color: 10/10 (I know the pink looks terrible in the photos I provided, but I took them at nighttime under a *very* yellow light. Under normal lighting conditions it looks just like the stock photo)

Best $35 I've spent lately. I work graveyard at a 24 convenience store. I do not like ear buds, as I like to be aware of my surroundings, for obvious reasons. This speaker checks all the boxes. Sounds great, looks great, I even hang it on the shower arm while showering. No need for the clip 4, but I am old school. plus it was $20 cheaper than the clip 4.

I like it! It works as advertised. Nice portability and simple to use. Recommend increase volume or sound output.
