The Steel Series 6Gv2 Red Switches, modeled after the award winning Steel Series 7G keyboard, is the lower priced mechanical keyboard designed to improve the user's ability to obtain more actions per minute than any other keyboard on the market. The Steel Series 6Gv2 Red Switches redefines "anti-ghosting" features by supporting as many simultaneous key presses as there are keys on the keyboard. Utilizes red cherry switches. Improved feel.

Review: Fantastic Keyboard - I just received the keyboard earlier today and currently using it. Immediately i noticed a difference in my typing, the keys are extremely comfortable. The keyboard itself is smaller then my old Thermaltake Knucker keyboard. The keys just feel amazing under every press... no longer do i miss presses, and find myself overpressing at times... due to the old rubber dome design i was so used to. After i got used to pressing the keys a little less... it improved further, the keyboard was heavy and i really like that, wish it did come with the key removal tool, but alas that is not a problem, the function key is great. People who complained about that have no idea what they're talking about. How often do people actually use the windows key anyway? I was already used to the larger enter key and smaller right shift key as well. That was also not an issue with me. Pros: -Sturdy Heavy Keyboard -Extremely comfortable and simple design -Love the clicky noise of bottoming out every press Cons: -No key removal tool? Take for example for people debating on switching over to mechanical, i am a starcraft 2, wow and league of legends player. My SC2 i went from 80 APM to 140 APM, without changing anything, also at 80 APM i was trying my heart out to get that. (Yes i have a winning record =P) Much less effort to get that 140 APM w/ the new keyboard. All gamers i recommend you switch... NOW.
Review: Best keyboard ever constructed. - Now, I think it's worth mentioning I'm a hardware guy. Not just the computer itself, but it's peripherals, come naturally to me. I see something hardware related, and my first instinct is to compare it to other solutions. I was flustered when I saw this keyboard. There's nothing to compare it to. Maybe the Das Keyboard, but that doesn't have the cherry red switches, as far as I know. The best way I can describe the user experience is a simply notion: it's like typing on a cloud. I use this mainly for gaming, but it's made a better typist out of me. I feel awkward using other keyboards, and yet, I've gotten faster at using them. Even as I lay here, typing this review on my iPhone, it's definitely changed my typing speed. I love that feeling of feedback, but it's more relaxed in this keyboard, and I love it even more for it. In terms of ascetics, it looks beautiful. I've opted to pair it with a R.A.T. 7 gaming mouse, by Cyborg/MadCatz. Since they both use red lighting primarily, both have comfortable designs, both utilize gold plated connectors, and are both pack leaders in their markets, is say its a fantastic match. In fact, to prospecting buyers, is suggest the exact pair, if not, using it alongside an M.M.O. 7, if you're more of a macro gamer. The only thing I wish is that they'd release other iterations of this board. Perhaps one with backlighting, or a wider range of buttons. I must say, I miss the volume controls on my old HP keyboard. But that's something I knew about before I bought this. It would also be nice if they sold a wireless one, for the more travel savvy, or for iPad users. All in all, it's a fantastic unit, from a brand that I am persistently impressed by. Is recommend it for anybody that uses a keyboard regularly, not just gamers. If you're an avid typist, and don't mind dropping a Benjamin for a keyboard, look no further.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it possible to remove any of the keys, i.e., the F1 key? I want to avoid hitting it by accident and never use it.**
A: Yes. They can literally just be pulled out. I just tried it with the F1 key before answering this and then put the keycap back on without an issue. I think bigger keys (like shift) require more finesse though.

**Q: Im a bit of a cleanfreak and I've heard that the keys dont really rub off, but rather "get dirty". Has anyone been succesful in preventing this?**
A: I've been using the same 6Gv2 for a good 5 years now. The keys look like-new. None of the lettering has rubbed off or even shifted. The main keys are a little shiny from use, but I wouldn't call it dirty. If anything, because of the black keys, it shows less wear and dirt than a white keyboard.

**Q: I need a Ñ and other symbols for spanish language, Is there a way to add custom key caps?**
A: I dont know when this sale ends, but they have a Spanish version of this keyboard here: http://1sale.com/electronics/audio-gaming/ss-64229/

**Q: Is the edition with "black" keys Cherry MX as well? It says the red version is, but doesn't say for sure whether the black is Cherry MX or not.**
A: The black edition has Cherry MX black switches. If you want those cherry MX reds then you will have to buy the red version and deal with the red background behind the keys.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Keyboard
*by D***S on August 3, 2013*

I bought this keyboard as a Mechanical Keyboard I can take to work to replace works horrible Dell Membrane boards. I did get the Red Switch version. I'm actually Typing from it right now! This keyboard is a nice keyboard. Solid in construction. The Red switches are amazing to type on. Super smooth and they take no pressure at all for the key to register. You could touch type if you practiced enough. It works nice at my work since I'm at a bank. The only sound you hear is the bottoming out of the keys. Co-workers have'nt complained yet! They actually love typing on it and want one like it. Now in terms of this board being a gaming keyboard I have only used it for League of Legends and Deadlight (platformer on Steam). It is nice for League. I actually like the light touch for it. I never really slip up like I thought I would. It is a good keyboard but there are a few flaws. It seems very compact. My main Keyboard at home is a Das Keyboard and The 6Gv2 seems compact compared to it for some reason. It's just small. In the other reviews people have said the key letters and numbers wear off. I have had this keyboard for around 2 months now and There is some of the bright white color dulling but so far all the images are still there. The main thing that bugs me is the small Shift key on the right side. but after I have been typing on it for a bit it hasn't been bad at all. I think my Das Keyboard is a better keyboard for me. The blue switches with the tactile feel are amazing. Maybe I should have gotten the Black swithces? Now for a small summary! Pros: --Smooth keys (red) --Solid construction --Quieter than Blues for sure --Great for typing --Media Keys are nice Cons: --Shift key is small --Key image does wear --Seems compact --No tilt adjust or feet All in all a great Keyboard. Definitely worth the Price on Amazon. There are a few minor things I dislike, but The good overshadows it for sure. I say if you want a Red switch Keyboard that is of good quality, then this is definitely a wallet friendly one.
