Powertex is needed as a binder. (or acrylic binder or acrylic paint) . By adding Powertex, the wax will become harder. **Q: How long does it take to dry?** A: It depends of the thickness of the layer applied. If you work in a humid environment it will also have an impact on the drying process. **Q: is it opaque or transparent? I don’t have many oils but I have tons of acrylics. ### ⭐ update *by P***N on September 4, 2020* this WAS amazing , new batch is a new formula that sucks and the seller is gaslighting me that there is no solvent in it . it stinks. literally and metaphorically. do not buy. If you want to try the cold wax technique, which is usually done with oils, this will let you do it with acrylic or inks. It’s a fabulous medium that washes off easily . Create beautiful layers in your acrylic paintings by mixing this with your paint to create glazes. Scrape back into it to reveal paint underneath. Use texture stamps or stencils or any object you like to create texture. Possibilities are endless. Surprised this hasn't taken off in the art community and glad to find it through amazon. The powertex company ships really fast.
