Good lock, good idea with the shackle.
Used this lock to keep people from cutting through my side garden to the woods at the rear. Put a loop on the stone wall, and put it through the wrought iron gate and the loop. With it pulling very tight it works perfectly. Only small gripe is only 2 keys , wanted a spare for the window cleaner.
