I ordered a Large size and whilst generous, it is not oversized, even just over a shirt. Equally it would not be too small over a jumper so it's just about right. I am normally M or L, according to the cut of a garment. I bought the gilet as a photographer's accessory and it should prove useful in this respect. It is reasonably smart and nicely finished. I chose the camel colour which is like a light khaki and very suitable for nature photography.The pockets are of variable sizes (I don't believe any two are identical) and are either zipped or with a strong press stud, with the exception of the two internal pockets which have Velcro tabs for fastening. I'm not so keen on these as the tabs can become unstitched with use.The gilet is quite loose at the bottom but can be gathered in with the adjustable cord. Overall, a good design. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very handy gilet with lots of useful pockets *by J***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2018* I got this for my husband and he loves it and has already worn it quite a few times. It is of good quality and has plenty of pockets for carrying all those bits and bibs. Women carry handbags but men need lots of pockets! If he is walking the dog, he is able to carry dog biscuits, car keys, wallet, mobile phone etc,etc. It has 2 inside pockets which have a Velcro fastening and these are particularly handy. He is also a keen photographer and again the various pockets are ideal for carrying bits and pieces. He has a warm heavyweight gilet for wearing in the winter but this lightweight gilet is ideal for summer wear. It is washable so is easy to care for. Altogether this is a useful buy which you are likely to get lots of wear out of. As other reviewers have recommended, I bought this in a bigger size than I would normally buy for him, feeling that it would not matter if it was slightly big. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "LARGE" LOOSELY FITS A 42" CHEST *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 November 2018* Fit is the most problematical aspect of ordering clothing online. I like loose fits, and before the age of internet buying, I was used to trying on items labelled "large" and finding them a decent fit on my 42" chest, whereas I have been disappointed more than once with an online, so-called "large" fit. Happily, this garment offers exactly the nice, loose fit that we old fellows tend to prefer (and over a corduroy shirt, too), and I therefore consider it to be just right. If I had wanted a snug fit, however, perhaps to reveal a firm, svelte outline, I would have been disappointed. Snug it ain't.The last microfibre gilet I bought didn't wash nicely. It became very soft and, well, kind of flabby. I have to wait to see how this one behaves, but probably not too long, given I bought the light camel.Otherwise, I like the waist-gathering cord with its secure fastening, the pocket assortment is all anyone but the most extreme gadget-laden could wish for, and it's really nicely put together.
