It was worse after surgery, when I could only use one hand. I decided to try this. It's great! I can use my whole hand, without straining my thumb. I can chop veggies, or slice meat with a rocking motion. The only thing I haven't mastered is baby carrots, which like to roll away. Unlike straight knives, the size/shape of this makes it easy to cut things like salad in a bowl. My husband said "You use that every day!" Yes, I do. I just wish the cover went on more easily so I could stick it in my purse and take it to restaurants.
