Nice work boots.
I love these boots so much that this is my 3rd pair of these excat boots. I bought 2 in black and these khaki ones. They last forever! The zipper makes these boots. High quality thick zipper. The zipper will not break or snap or malfunction. I will not work without high boots like these, especially without a zipper. I am on my feet 10-16hrs and high boots that are tight and sturdy but comfortable are extremely important. I need boots that are long lived, easy to put on and off, high qulaity and comfortable. These boots check all those off the list. They have super traction on the bottom when they are brand new its awesome. I have worn dozens of boots of the last 15yrs and these are the best. They will not disappoint. For high boots I don't feel like they are very heavy, compared to the under Armour line of course they weigh more but ask anyone that wears the under Armour boots they pay more money for boots that don't last as long. I am going on 4yrs for one pair. Your lucky to get 6 months out of most other brands. Is the inside sole soft, not really but you should be wearing inserts in all shoes especially boots. Shoe companies don't waste their money on the inner soles because they know people are going to use inserts. They are water resistant not water proof. I would not stand in a deep puddles for long time. If they do get wet, you just unzipp them and let them dry out. The boots inside have paddling around ankles which keeps them comfortable. Do they get hot, yea depending on the weather but they are 8inch boots. After breaking them in which is not long they will conform to your legs and feet. I really have nothing negative to say about these boots. If you have been a shoes wearer all your life then these might take time to adjust to walking in them and 2 seconds longer it takes to lace them up. If your a boot wearer then you'll love these right away.

Great first impression! Will update as time goes on! UPDATE: order half a size up.
4/28/23 Great first impression with these boots, very comfortable! grips the Achilles perfectly. True to size as well, I wear a 10 and the 10's fit perfectly snug with just enough room in the toe and a set of insoles for extra comfort. I added some extra protection on the outside of the toe with some brown Flex Seal spray so thats why they look a little different than the stock boots. Ive also done a couple coats of some Camp Dry spray to hopefully help repell any water since I work in an animal shelter and frequently use a hose to clean kennels. I will update this review as time goes on since I know you cannot judge a pair of boots off a day or two of use. 5/23/23 Still love these boots! BUT they are just a fraction too small I think. The left boot is making my big toe numb from just barely pushing against it. So I have ordered another pair half a size up. Other than that they are still holding up very well and comfortable in every other aspect. 4/3/24 See picture. I put these boots through the ringer for 11 months. Near daily use. getting wet almost everyday. dirt, mud, gravel, poop (I work at an animal shelter) you name it. They did start to come apart in a few places about 8 months in, and a hole developed at the toe crease on the right boot around that same time. But they never fully came apart or became uncomfortable. I probably could have push them to a year but I decided it was time for another pair. Great boots for the money, im fine with getting a year out of them.

All around awesome boot!
These boots rock! Been using them for about 2-3 weeks now and I have to say, they are leaps and bounds better than what I was issued out of the academy. Very comfortable. I have a wide toe/ball of my foot and all I needed to do to adjust was loosen the laces a bit and they fit great. They are extremely lightweight considering they are so water resistant which is great for me being a CO who has to both walk a lot and do a lot of my walking through wet corridors in a seg unit. Only gave 4 stars because I haven’t been able to fully test the durability of them as I have not had them long enough to consider that yet. That being said, they have held up well already and I notice no separation or wear as of yet. Side note, for those of you that want to shine these: they will polish to a high shine with a bit of work. I had the best luck after scrubbing and sort of exfoliating the surface of the boot a bit and then applying my own boot polish. Would definitely recommend at this point. Will update when I have worn them more to comment on durability more accurately. Edit*** have worn these for a few months and they’re still as comfortable as the day I got them. They have seen all kinds of abuse at work and there is no damage to the boot and they are holding up beautifully. Water resistance has held up in corridors with flooded toilets and my feet remain dry as a bone. They breathe well at the same time which is not generally the case with a water resistant boot such as this. Awesome purchase and will buy again next time they’re needed.

Expected quality, but as stiff as mentioned.
First off this is not my first part of 511 boots, nor is it my second or third... 511 has been my go-to choice for boots for the last few years. They are the only boot I've worn that has held up to 40+ hours of 9 miles a night foot patrol and not outright worn out in six months. That said? These are bloody stiff out of the box to the point when I first stood up I nearly fell on my back. EVERY 511 boot I've bought in the past has been good to go out of the box. My last two pair I literally bought from a local first responder dealer and put them on before leaving the store with no issues. This pair? It took me weeks to break them in and even now months later I still have issues getting them on compared to my Evos I was wearing previously. Good things. Still as comfortable as I expect in the soul area and while walking. Quality is as expected to a degree. The bad. Months later I still have issues taking these off without unlacing. The whole point of the side zip is for easy on or off without problem, but because of how tight they left the membrane... it has no stretch and if you have size 14 feet like me it's going to get irritating putting them on or taking them off. Again the POINT of a zipper is so I don't have to unlace the boot to get them on or off. Tied to the above I'm annoyed that there is still not a backplate on the heel for you to dig in and kick these off. As such doing so my first week tore pieces of foam off the heel that was apparently not glued on entirely. So now I have notches missing on an otherwise new looking boot. These did not come with boot laces like the last four pair of 511s I've bought, so if you don't replace the laces expect to tie them every 2-3 days if you don't double knot. Which again... with a useless side zip... is annoying. These are supposed to be anti-slip but every time I get on a smooth surface combined with a liquid I might as well be wearing ice skates. On pavement or the like it's not an issue, but on something like a waxed floor or a wood dock covered in algae? BE CAREFUL. End thoughts? I will be buying Evos again in the future when they wear out. I only bought these because of what my first responder friends said about it, and the fact it was(at the time) cheaper than the Evos.

Great fit
It arrived on time. I've had these only for a day (but its hurricane season in Louisiana and I anticipated they may be handy for preparedness). The upper is taller than I expected but that may work out well in the long run. They feel comfortable although I really have to be deep sitting in order to don them. They're really snug so this tight-fitting contour may require some hard pulling before you can finally get them on. You definitely need to use the zipper too. It's not only convenient but very practical. I feel like they'll last a long time as its clear that they're well built and not cheaply made. I trully appreciate the rugged grooves on the tread as this is typically the first thing to wear and essentially renders the boot worthless when worn down. They look cool from a stylish standpoint and they're made to last. My first impression is that these boots are durable (I will update this review in the coming months if necessary). Update: I no longer wear these as of mid 2022 the to portion ripped open on one of the boots and the tread is worn. For a $100 that’s really substantial durability since I worked and hiked in these boots and used them as rain boots as well. I am very pleased with this purchase so I upgraded the four to five stars. 2 1/2 years with these guys. Hurricane seasons, storms, mud and rain.

Great boots
I have an Excavation business and never had boots more than a year. I’m rough on boots climbing on and off heavy equipment and working on them, plus I’ll ride my dirt bike wearing them if I don’t plan on riding hard, I’ve got the right boots for that. I’m buying my 3rd pair of these now in Dec 2025 I couldn’t believe the last time I bought them was Oct 2021. They are pretty beat up but still wearable, I’m only getting new ones because one of the zippers just broke. The the first pair I bought was in 2018 for $59, in 2021 $110 now they’re $135. Still worth it.

Fabulous boots and comfortable.
I wear size 10. Their size 10 was too short. Had to return them. Wanted to exchange for 10 1/2, but couldn't find that option. Now, I'll have to wait for the next sale. They went back to full price. Update: I just went ahead and purchased another pair, and got the 10 1/2 standard width. I absolutely love the comfort. They do seem to give the room I need. When I compare them with the Bates Ultra Lite's, they are a bit more narrow in the front, but that is possibly why I needed the 10 1/2, but I definitely don't need a wide width. I would definitely recommend these. I give them the full 5 stars, it's not their fault they fit just a bit more snug. The size 10 was causing pain with my big toe on the right foot. No such issue with the left. I would point out that I broke the big toe on my right foot riding a MX motorcycle.

Stylish Look, But Not for Heavy-Duty Use
The boots look great and are very comfortable, especially for jogging. However, they have significant drawbacks that make them unsuitable for certain conditions: - Dangerously Slippery: The sole is extremely slippery, especially on wet or frozen stones, making them unsafe for rugged or outdoor environments. - Not Water-Resistant: The boots get wet almost instantly. They’re fine for light rain in urban settings but are completely unsuitable for wet grass, muddy trails, or any outdoor activity in damp conditions. - Impractical Knife Pocket: The knife pocket doesn’t securely hold any knife I tried, and I even lost one due to its poor design. These boots are fine for casual city use but should be avoided if you need reliable footwear for outdoor or heavy-duty tasks.
