Nice set, good size selection.
I really do not like to use a brass jag in my firearms and prefer the plastic ones. A metal on metal contact inside the bore seems like it should be avoided. Brass is made using copper and I use copper solvents to clean the bore, However, if you bring this up when you talk with a gunsmith he will simply state that it won't hurt it. Not to mention, if the brass ones fall on a hard surface they can deform, Plastic jags come in about four sizes, these thirteen. I like to use a cotton flannel patch made by Pro Shot and it is thicker than the non-woven patches that come with most cleaning kits and are sold in bulk by Hoppes and other bigger names, Both work fine, the cotton is softer and soaks up more product, while the non-woven one is more abrasive. The problem is when I use the cotton path the fit is so tight I have to step down a size. With this set I step down from .45/.44 to .40, while with plastic I go from .45/.44 to .38/9 mm. A tight fit is what a jag is made for. This set is top quality as you would expect from Tipton. The case is a great selling point, keeping them organized, making them easy to store, and it can be hung on a peg board. I just wish this set came in plastic.

Exceeded expectations
Probably the best machined brass jags I have ever owned, contained in a protective case, with every size I could ever need. And, YES, I measured each jag with my digital calipers--they were spot-on!

Mr Clean
Great jags, case is too tight but that's better that rattling around loose. Try using patches one caliber down such as a .17 for a .22. Tight fit gets the dirt out with fewer patches. I use the foam cleaners first and let the bore soak for 20 minutes before scrubbing with brush and then a patch. Even after getter a clean patch I will foam a second time. I then warm the barrell with a hair dryer before running an oily patch through the bore and wiping down all the metal parts. A warm barrel helps open the pores to allow the cleaners to work and to release moisture. It also helps trap the fresh oil as it cools down.

"Solid" describes these jags
These jags are the best I've used to clean my rifles and guns. I like the fact that they come in an organizer type box with clear identification of the size of the jag. The jags themselves have a terrific "solid" feeling being they are entirely brass. The machining is excellent and they screwed right into my cleaning rods as if they were lubricated. I especially appreciate the needle-like post that makes attaching a patch very easy. In combination with the bevels in the jags themselves, your patches aren't going to come off in the barrel. I highly recommend these jags. I doubt I'll need to buy anymore for a long time unless it's for a gift.

A good set of tools to clean your guns and rifles and the price is fair for the quality!
I like these jags to clean my rifles and guns with. I try to use thin patches to make sure that they feed through the the barrel easily. The sharp tip on the jag allows you to center the patch and get started. I mostly shoot my AR15, .45 cal and 9mm. I like that the jags are made of brass and I have not had any issue with the sizes I use for my guns. The jags come in a nice case but the case is not perfect. The jags sizes are marked on the top of the case but it is almost impossible to read the sizes as they are molded into the case and the screw end of the jags cover the size lettering. In addition, removing the jags from the case is a PITA. Even after using them multiple times they are extremely hard to remove and I have to wind up using a screwdriver to get them out of the case. When you put them back into the case they snap in with a loud pop, I think it will be quite a while before they are easily removable from the case. The jags are 5 star for me but overall I rate this as a 4 star product as the case could be better and easier to use. The jags work well and help to clean up my guns quickly and easily.

Awesome jags
I had purchased these jags for my rifles and handguns, and I must say I do really love these little jags, there made super sturdy and of course there brass. The jags do a fine job with patches when running them through it's a nice snug fit and gets those bores nice and shiny. If you're looking for great jags that could do the job well and add finesse to your cleaning these are for you you won't be disappointed thank you Tipton..

No more loose jags floating around in mixed kits, drawers, or on shelves.
I bought these jags for three main reasons: 1. They come in their own box with labeled chambers for each jag. 2. I wanted to replace all my plastic and loose jags. 3. I needed some jags for new guns that I recently bought. Tipton products have been very good to me. I love their one piece carbon fiber rods and I love the jags and phosphor bronze brushes. These jags are as good as advertised. They have the spear on the tip to hold your wads in place and they have plenty of surface area to push the wads against the bore when you push them through the barrel. The threads are clean and crisp. They screw into standard cleaning rods very smoothly. Yes I tried them on a 3 piece aluminum rod and a one piece tipton rod. The jags screwed into both very easily with the exception of the .17 cal. It's made for a smaller rod and I don't have a gun that small anyway. In any case the threads are in industry standards. I will say that if you are cleaning a 44 and a 45 at the same time, you have to be careful to keep them seperate. The individual jags are not labeled with their size. Each bay though is fitted to a jag. Pros: The case keeps them organized. Each chamber in the case is labeled. Each bay is sized according to the jag that fits it. The case can be mounted on a wall. The lid fits very well and is easy to open and close. Each bay has a snug fit to hold the jags in place so they don't come loose. Cons: The jags are not labeled with their sizes so be careful you don't confuse them. The jags have a very tight fit in their bays. People with weak grips or arthritis in their hands may have difficulty. The labels on the bay are hard to read. They are simply raised numbers and there isn't any contrast to them. Maybe a sharpe would help with that.

Handy set. Much much cheaper than buying individual jags for each calibre. American style threads tho, not parker hale style. I had both thankfully.

Works well to clean fouling.. i have used these with Wipe Out to clean Copper and carbon fouling. They work great! One thing though is they are brass so they may give a hint of green on your patches if you are using a copper remover and throw you off
