CURT 13409 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Receiver for Subaru Forester

It's a Curt. That should be all you need to know to convince you to buy it over everyone else. Installation was so easy, it should be illegal. First off, they provide videos here, YouTube and their company website, showing you how to install the hitch. The hardware is simple, straight forward and strong. Next, the fishing wires are absolutely foolproof, making it all but impossible to make a mistake. And since this is the second Curt hitch I've installed, I could tell they made the fishing wires even better! They added big, blunt caps on the end of the wires, so you don't poke your eye out while fiddling around under the vehicle! And really, the fishing wires are what make it so easy. I didn't have anyone to help me install it, so I was laying on the ground, with the hitch on my chest. I threaded the wires through the bolt holes on the hitch, then lifted it into place. The wires guide the hitch, and also keep the bolts from bumping up and getting lost in the frame! That's such a helpful detail! This is a company that LISTENS to their customers! Excellent product and it was a perfect match for my Forrester. The instructions were clear and everything needed was in the box.

Installed easily, looks good and is nicely tucked out of the way. As a bonus the motion activated hatch works as well, something that the OEM hitch disables.

Perfect for my 2026 Subaru Forester. Easy install.

Bought this hitch for my wife's 2025 Forester. It fit nicely, although putting a hitch on a Forester is not the easiest task. This is my 2nd hitch, on my 2nd Forester. Quality is excellent, although the hitch I got had a few scuffs on it. I would suggest to Curt to make the rectangle pieces that the carriage bolts fit into in the frame about 1/8 inch more narrow, so they can fit into the slightly larger hole that is not used for bolting, but had to be modified to get those pieces inside the frame. The holes farthest away from the bumper. Other than that... I'd say buy Curt and not Chinese... although I noticed they just raised the price on my Bronco hitch about 11% (ouch), and the Curt electronics seem a bit expensive for what you get.

This a top notch hitch. Well built and will serve you well. The online documentation for these are easy to follow with several videos to help. Just follow it 100% to the letter. The only ding is it's not 100% bolt on and this is on Subaru and not on Curt. You will have to make a few holes bigger with a step drill bit and seal the drilled holes with paint or POR-15 like I did. Minor headache but an additional trip to the store if you don't have the tools. I installed this on my 2020 Forester and it took me a morning to do it taking my time with a cup of coffee (or two).

Installed on a 2025 Subaru forester hybrid without any issue. Quality is great, as others have mentioned, the hitch easily smashed is way through the shipping box. Fortunately, no significant damage occurred.

Product is fine. Amazon shipping is terrible. Box is missing, hardware and instructions were taped to hitch. Hitch is scratched in several places,not unusable but disappointing for new product.

arrived on time with hardware intact, much appreciated Follow the direction and watch a couple of online videos. lifted the rear wheels and placed on 4x4 blocks for added room to work when you drill the "fish-hole", ensure both block and carriage bolt fit chose to lower three exhaust hangers and use strap for support mainly a one person install, a second person is helpful (needed) to lift hitch and thread fish lines. install time about two hours from lifting wheels to tool clean-up
